Description

Advanced comfort and support in a simple package.

An advanced customizable lacing system and serious support combine with a lightweight feel and a simple-to-use design to make the K2 Maysis Boa Men's Snowboard Boot a team favorite. Built for getting buck in the backcountry and tearing up the resort with equal efficiency, the Maysis will help you conquer it all.

Double Boa dials allow you to independently adjust the upper and lower zones of your boots with the twist of a knob so you can get the tightness exactly how you want it, and the Intuition liner molds to the shape of your foot to provide all-day comfort and better board control. Internal and external J-bars keep your heel locked down, and an EVA footbed with Harshmellow dampens vibrations and absorbs shock to protect your heels when you go too big.

It's also super lightweight thanks in part to the Grip-Lite outsole. A harder durometer Phylon replaces rubber to greatly reduce weight without compromising durability. Rubber pods in high-wear areas increase the life of the sole and improve traction, and more Harshmellow further enhances the impact-absorbing powers of the Maysis.

  • Double Boa lacing system
  • Intuition Control Foam 3D liner
  • 3D formed EVA footbed with Harshmellow
  • Internal and external J-bars
  • Dual-density 3D formed tongue
  • Articulating flex zone
  • Grip-lite Phylon sole with rubber pods and Harshmellow

so far so good

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

the biggest problem I've had was heel lift. so I finally went and replaced my 15 year old boots with these K2 Maysis and what a huge difference. the inner boa does exactly what it's supposed to, it keeps my foot down in the boot. pretty comfy when off the mountain too, just pop both boas and walk around. they are warm and allow pretty nice control. they are also lighter than my old ones, but to be fair I'm comparing against switch compatible so those had some metal at the bottom. So far I like them, one day's worth of riding under my belt. I'm concerned with durability as noted in the other reviews (stitching, especially if I rest the board on the boot while on the lift) but obviously I've only used them one day so far.

Comfortable boots overall

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered these boots for my BF the end of December. These boots are very light! Dual Boa system is pretty sweet. These boots are very comfortable, velvet linings and toes have been staying warm. However, I do have to return these boots and get replacement, because the upper Boa randomly came off after a day of riding last week, part of the exterior fabric was torn also. Construction of the boots may not be top notch, but they are comfortable.

Fantastic boots

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got these boots before a week trip to Winter Park and they were excellent! Super lightweight and the boa system is awesome. I did have a small learning curve to figure out how hard to crank down each boa, but by end of day 2 I had it nailed. These replaced a much older pair of K2 boots I had and these were WAY stiffer. It took a couple of runs to adjust since I was not used to such reaction, but again once I dialed in the feel and it was great. I had plenty of toe room - use a liner and wool sock combo - which I like. Agree that could use some better sole padding, but I'll probably just upgrade with some good liners from the drug store or target.
I've had no issues with stitching fray, water retention or boas popping out on me.
I tried on a number of different brands before I finally settled on these boots. Won't go into all the pros and cons, but for the value, comfort, lightweight and overall feel of these boots I am extremely happy.

BTW - I will NEVER go back to laces again.

A wee bit too narrow, dead, hard.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great boots,(if they fit right!) these are my first boa and i wont go back to lace systems. I enjoyed these boots at first because of the build quality and how nice the burgundy looks. The boots are a bit too narrow for me in the toes, i got a size 10 which was perfect length wise, however, i have broken a big toe on my left foot and pinkee toe on my right. The narrowness of these boots made that uncomfortable. They also did not fit the vertical thickness of my foot.

After a run and a half my foot was totally dead/numb. When i'm done riding with these boots, my big toe hurts for a day or two after.

The other downfall of this boot is that the retain water very easily. (your foot wont get wet, but still) I also had an issue one ride day where the one boa kept popping out on me.

My final complaint about the boots is that they don't have adequate padding in the sole. It just felt flat and hard. Currently return these for some 32 double boas.

Sorry to hear about the boots not fitting correctly although it is always recommended to try on boots and walk around with them on before you buy them.

Awesome boot!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Been out on this boot a few time and really enjoyed it. K2's internal boa-conda system is great for getting your heel locked down. The liner is one of the best I've used. Very comfortable and not too stiff, which I like.

Only concern is that some of the stitching is starting to fray and I've had to cut it off with a scissor. Hoping these hold up because I love them so far.
