The L1 Thunder Pant features a super-clean chino silhouette, with a skinny fit that's just like your favorite pair of jeans. Unlike your favorite pair of jeans, however, the Thunder has a waterproof/breathable membrane, zippered leg cuffs, and zippered pockets for full on-hill function.
8K-rated waterproof/breathable membrane and critically taped seams keep you dry in most conditions
Skinny denim fit with articulated knees to allow full range of motion
Stretch twill fabric for durability and comfort
Balls-Out venting cools your undercarriage when things get sweaty
Zippered leg cuffs for an easy fit over the top of your boots
These pants looked awesome on my boyfriend but when he tried them on with his boots they looked ridiculous. They didn't fit more than a couple inches over the tops of his boots. Other brands' skinny-fit pants fit over his boots fine.
Also, the pockets don't zip closed and there is no waterproof layer between the opening and your skin. Definitely a design flaw unless you only ride sunny days in the park...
Compared to the skinny, premium skinny, thunder, slim chino, and Americana....which pants have the skinny/flared look? I love the bellbottom look....but I hate when pants are too short. Which do you suggest have the most bellbottom look to them but are really baggy at the bottom so that they hang over the boot and touch the ground.

best pair of skinny pants out there. they are definatly TWILL. not the usual fabric of all jackets and pants gives it a nice look and is a true skinny fit. go with a large if your 5'10 160-170lbs and wear 32-30.
Sizing can be tricky while shopping online, good thing these pants are labeled as "skinny" and not "slim fit". That is the best indicator that these pants take the slim fit idea to the extreme. They aren't try hard wanna-be skinny snowpants made by bro companies that are jumping the "skinny look bandwagon". These are flexible, form fitting at the bottom for boots, while maintaining tightness in knees, thighs, and the ass. 6'3" and 170 L fits me perfectly. M would have been too short and probably TOO tight (yes children, clothing can actually be uncomfortably/unnecessarily tight). PS - my roommate was surprised they were even snow pants - "they fit like pants dude".
im 5-10 and wiegh 165 pounds. these are medium. they fit perfect if you want real skinny fit. if you want a little extra room go a size bigger my waist is 32-30
I wear size 28/28 in regular jeans so what size should I get in these? plus what would be a good slim and cheap boot for the L1 thunder pants to go over? right now I have 32 Lashed and they are big and bulky.
Depending on how slim you want em, you could go with XS or Small. These puppies fit on the small side.
As for boots, unfortunately most boots are pretty big and bulky up top. Speed lace boots tend to be slimmer up top, though some think they're dorky.
I got my hands on the 12/13 Burton Imperial last year, AWESOME and comfortable boot that worked great in the park and all over the mountain, and it had the Speed Lace system that was slimmer up top.

This year's version of the Thunder pant does not have boot gaiters. It is a slim fit around the boot though which keeps them snuggly over the cuff of your boot making it near impossible for any snow to get in. If you are looking for a gaiter on a slim pant check out the L1 Slim Chinos.
