Description

Yup, it's an unstoppable winged mutant beast with magical powers and stuff.

The Lib Tech Birdman FD BTX HP Snowboard was devised in a secret laboratory located under a volcano by Mervin's sleep-deprived mad scientists. It was there that they utilized the volcano's basalt to formulate the T-Bird's explosive pop within the T-Bird; it was on the world's steepest and deepest terrain that the unsinkable FD shaping was put to the test. In the end, they determined that the Birdman was a revolutionary, pow-surfing, unstoppable winged mutant beast with magical powers and stuff.

  • Banana Tech rocker profile is the one that started it all—rocker between your feet, and flat zones extending to the contact points for a loose, catch-free feel
  • Magnetraction edges creates multiple contact points along the edges for optimal control and traction on all types of snowpack
  • Flotation Device powder-specific nose was designed with shovel-like shaping to disperse snow and create a fatigue-reducing floating effect
  • All-terrain directional powder shape was custom-engineered for steep-and deep powder slayage, so you stay afloat with minimal effort
  • Horsepower construction ditches the fiberglass altogether and replaces it with lighter, stronger, and environmentally friendlier basalt glass
  • Bio-plastic topsheet is made from lightweight and sustainable castor beans; Bio-plastic boasts the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any topsheet material available
  • Colombian Gold core is engineered to be light, poppy, and awesome
  • Sintered base uses a durable and porous compound to retain wax and carry speed
  • Made in the USA
  • Artwork by the legendary Mike Parillo
  • It's not a swallow tail, but it's still D-Naz approved

From Pow-day to Everyday!

I had been after one of these directional powder boards for a while. The Birdman picks up right where the Snow Mullet left off. Super wide nose, set way back.
The board takes some getting used to on hard pack and traverses, but for any rider thats been on a full reverse camber board for a while it will be pretty natural.
So the ride in powder is AMAZING! Best floating surfy feel you can get. When taking large drops into deep snow I found the nose would actually push me back into position instead of just submarining into a cartwheel.
For anyone thats ever ridden the K2 Hellbent, this is the rowdy cousin! it handles everything you can throw at it, its just loose on hard pack.

I would not recommend this for the rider that will buy only one board. Its a total quiver board that is best used on those 8"+ days. It kills it in the powder but not a carver, jibber, or switch riding board.
I'm 6'2" 180lbs and ride the 170cm but would feel just fine on the 180cm. I feel a smaller rider would be happy with this size as well as its so set back it rides short.
