Description

You'll be scratching all KINDS of stuff ... think outside the box.

Jesse Burtner's jib stick of choice, the Lib Tech Box Scratcher BTX Snowboard features a fun, jibby flex and Banana Tech rocker profile to help you press like a pro. The mid-wide shape offers a little extra stability and float in deep snow, and Magne-Traction edges help you stay in control when the snow conditions get not so rad.
  • Banana Tech rocker profile lifts your contact points out of the snow for a hook-free feel and pre-loaded pressing power
  • Magne-Traction serrated edges add contact points to increase control, even in firm snow
  • Flex gets slightly stiffer in larger sizes ... but don't worry, it's still plenty buttery

How is this board on jumps? Spinning 20-40 footers. Also, de tune this board? or is it rail ready out of the box?

Responded on

Detune the magne-traction - it's like a serrated knife you def want to detune at the contact points for park riding.

I wear a size 13 boot and was wondering if the board was to skinny or if I will fit on it

Responded on

I'd probably go with a wide board for a boot that big.

I'm thinking of buying a burtner's box scratcher and was wondering if the board rides longer like some other lib tech boards? I'm 5'8, 165lbs and have a size 9US boot and can't decide on a 151 or 154, any help would be appreciated.
Ian.

Hey Ian,
I rode the 147 and the 157 back to back and to be honest, I had more fun on the 147. This board was always designed to be a little board for big people. (I'm 6'3" 174lb)
I'd go for the 151, but keep in mind that the board will be more specific to freestyle/jibbing and less all around riding at that size.

Hi,
I'm a guy that's 5'8", 165lbs and wears a 9US boot, just wondering would I be better off with a 151 or 154 box scratcher???

Responded on

Thanks Deon, I figure the 154 should be a bit more stable on jump landing anyway!

I am thinking about getting the Box Scratcher, I am about 5'4 and around 160lbs. I wear a size 10 boot (K2 Haymaker) and I am strictly going to be in the park, what size should I get if this board would be good for me at all?

Responded on

go with the 151. these boards run pretty narrow, a 147 i feel, would be too small. but it depends on your riding. get the 151 if you want to hit jumps and rails. 147 if your more of JUST rails

I'm ordering this board because I need a good park board, but I ride a lot of powder all over the mountain. I know that the BTX will allow float regardless of the board and the magne-traction 'turns ice to powder'. My question is whether this board will suite both my needs of shredding the park while allowing me to continue shredding the mountain?

Responded on

Yes - you will be able to cover both the park and powder.

Yo doods, iv been thinking about getting the 2012 box scratcher, the only thing holding me back is that they say its for people with bigger feet? i wear a 9 and 1/2.... would i still be able to throw this board around?

Responded on

Absolutely Ryan! I wear a nine and a half and ride the 154. It's so much fun everywhere! I even took it out in 2+ feet of new snow and had a blast!

Responded on

I' am looking for the ideal size snowboard. My height: 184cm (6 ") Weight: 83kg (183 pounds), boot size 11.5 (Burton Ion). I read a lot of opinions, but my can not decide which size would be better for me. How much more be shorter than the normal size? 154 from the thought, but perhaps I'm wrong! I currently have 159W burton Joystick and Travis Rice 161.5.

Responded on

It all just depends on what style of riding you do most. I am 6'2, 175 and I ride a 157. I do everything on it. If you are more into park, rails, and jibbing I would probably buy something a little smaller. It's mostly preference though, but if I were you I'd probably go with anything between 155-159 for an all mountain board
