Lib Technologies Skate Banana Original BTX Snowboard - 2011

Lib Tech’s Skate Banana Original BTX Snowboard has been blowing minds for over five years. The revolutionary rocker design makes snowboarding more fun, forgiving, and floaty than ever—and thanks to the edge-enhancing power of Magne-Traction, you can take your bag of tricks anywhere on the mountain in any snow conditions.

  • Banana Tech puts rocker between your feet, and flat zones extending to the contact points for a super-loose, catch-free feel
  • Magne-Traction serrated edges add contact points to improve control in all snow conditions
  • H-Pop core features a rocker-specific profile to maximize Banana Tech's pop and all-around radness
  • Choose your topsheet color! But please note, base colors may vary.... Good thing they're all awesome

Bottom Line: Going bananas since 2006.

Really havent tried it on snow yet snow this reviews prolly not gonna be helpful, but the livin' room jibbin' has been fun LOL, this board is so much easier to flex than my previous LIQUID board. Stoked on how light and easy this board is to hop around with. im 170 lbs, 5'8" using the 156cm board, its real easy to pop with.

B.A.N.A.N.A.S. For sure one of my favorite rides. I rode it a size short and it floats through pow and holds a solid edge. Unlike most reverse camber boards it doesn't get overly cattery when at high speeds. B.A.N.A.N.A.S.

Hey dude, I would say I'm approximately the same size as you. 5'11" and 195lbs. I own the 156 skate banana, and honestly I think the size is just right, and have a feeling that a 156 would be your best bet too. It's a great board and i like it a lot. I ride it with Union Force bindings and Thirty Two Lashed boots.

5'6 ~140 lbs. 50/50 park/mountain. Im riding a 152 right now but want to pick up a banana. 152 or 149? I like the idea of a 149 but I want it to be able to tackle the whole mountain, not just the park. Thoughts?

I'm 5'4" 140 and ride this board in 154 and it feels awesome. I'm still able to control it really well and tear up the mountain or the park if I feel like it.

149 is definitely long enough for you. I'm 5'6" and ride a 142 all mountain (I got it when I was about 5'1") and its not too bad at all so I'm sure a 149 will be great.

Super fun board! First banana board I have ever ridden, changing the whole game. Slays it in the pow, carves well and it's park magic!

I'm 5'11" and weigh 145 pounds. I'm east cost so I stay in the park a lot, but I also go out west and to Canada every season. Would you suggest a size 149 or 152 board for me?

152, and that would be still going short. 154-156 would be a more appropriate size, but if you want to go shorter for park, then 152 is okay. I am 5'5" and weigh 130 and I ride a 148 and shorter would be too short for me. The 149 would also probably be too narrow. You would have toe and heel overhang. at 5'11" your feet can't be small.

Great Park and Powder Board

By: Dogfunk.com Employee
July 18, 2012

I ride this board on powder days because of the Reverse camber and it works great! I've also taken it into the park a few times and have been really happy with it! I see this board all over the mountain and everyone who I've talked to who rides this board loves it! You really can't go wrong with the skate banana! :)

Go for the wide. The banana rocker design will help to alleviate the sluggish heel-to-toe turning. If you are on the lighter side, maybe less than 150lbs, I would consider the regular width, otherwise go for the wide.

Cheers!

Your height and weight has very little to do with what size your board should be, it has everything to do with what and how you ride. If you ask ten people you would get ten different answers. I am 6 ft 180 and I ride a 153 last year I rode a 151 but I ride a 158 if I am pow hungry. Ultimately there is no right or wrong answer, dont be afraid to guess wrong with Dogfunk.com they have an unlimited return policy so if its not perfect exchange it.

i decided to splurge and went for the lib tech skate banana. Going from a lamar to lib tech was a bit of a jump. The magne-traction takes a little getting used to at first but you get used to it quickly. I recommend either getting the same size board or even possible a bit smaller board because the magne-traction makes up for length.

Une Banane DU SKATE!

By:
December 24, 2011

Sick board. Definitly stepped up my game considerably after purchasing it. My favorite feature would have to tbe the magna traction. I can catch edges with ease on ice sheets when my friends are riding down on the their asses from lack of traction. Also is super light which is good for someone like me who isn't athletic enough to do tricks with a heavier board. Stay classy Lib TECH!
