The gigantic ripstick for Sasquatch impersonators everywhere.

There is some controversy over the existence of the legendary Skunk Ape in America's southeast, but we know for sure that they exist in the Pacific Northwest. And  the Lib Tech Skunk Ape C2 BTX HP ultra wide snowboard is the largest and rarest of these. They're cloaked in a veil of mystery, but from what we can deduce, the Skunk Ape is a super-wide, all-terrain freestyle maniac that loves park laps, but really comes into its own on high-speed lines. At 28.5 cm under foot, this thing dwarfs other wide boards, and its lightweight, bombproof, eco-friendly Horsepower construction keeps this beast responsive. If you've ever been scouted for the NBA, or mistaken for Bigfoot, the Skunk Ape ultra wide is right up your alley.

The Skunk Ape is built around Lib's C2 BTX profile. Basically, it's rockered between the feet, for tons of float and freestyle freedom, and there's camber in the tip and tail for control in every conceivable snow condition. The result all the float of a full rockered board, with more precision for sketchy moments. It gets better with Magne-Traction edges, which place seven strategic bumps along the edges. The bumps are bigger between the feet, which concentrates most of the grip there for a ride that's a lot like a skateboard. The nearly-twin shape has a half inch of setback for directional stability, without sacrificing switch landings and takeoffs.

Horsepower construction means that the Skunk Ape HP deck forgoes traditional fiberglass in favor of environmentally friendly basalt fibers. The result is a more responsive, lighter board than traditional constructions, and it's stronger to boot. Every one of those factors is amplified with bigger boards, which makes Horsepower the ideal construction for bigger rippers. The Bio Beans top sheet is not only made from renewable materials, but it's sparkly, so you know it's good. The Columbian Gold core uses sustainably harvested wood for a board that's light, and snappy. Power Transfer internal sidewalls crank up the durability, and they're buffered by UHMW external sidewalls for impact resistance. The sintered base holds a bunch of wax and runs super-fast, to keep you flying around the mountain. Best of all, you can rest easy knowing that your snowboard was built in an eco-friendly factory by real live snowboarders with jobs.
