Description
Get blunted with Travis.
The Lib Tech T.Rice Pro Model C2-BTX Blunt Snowboard presents game-changing tech for a game-challenging rider. And just like Travis, the T.Rice Pro Blunt rides with precision and powerful pop for launching hefty gaps, pointing chutes, and whipping up a freestyle frenzy in a backcountry landscape.
- C2 BTX puts rocker between your feet and camber from the inserts to the tip and tail for a balance of power and a catch-free, floaty feel
- Magnetraction edges steer through ice like a phantom ghost ship navigating the frozen waters of the arctic
- Colombian Gold core is farmed from sustainable forests and engineered to be light, poppy, and awesome
- Bio-polymer topsheet scraps harmful materials and replaces them with a topsheet formulated from magical sparkling beans
- Sintered base absorbs and holds wax through a durable, porous compound
- Freestyle-focused twin geometry with blunted nose and tail for butter-iffic
- Blunt tips further reduce swing weight for effortless spins and butter-ability
- Please note: the flex definitely isn't too stiff to jib with, but the T. Rice is no ooey-gooey rail board—it's best suited for experienced freestyle riders who want a deck that'll blast off lips and stand up to some speed

This board sucks. I bought seven of them, hoping they would get better, but in the end, I just wasted my money. So I decided to just snap them in half.

Serious retail therapy here, but this is the best object I've spent money on. Bought late season but was able to try it on a little powder, corn snow and hardpack. Super stable board, turn initiation is easy, and it seems to accelerate in and out of turns (it's powerful). Great pop and good enough float for a twin board. Mangetraction really gets into the east coast hardpack, and I haven't noticed any stickiness from it. Doesn't butter well, but also doesn't get tossed around in funky snow.
I went from a Burton Custom (too stiff) and Burton Malolo. Malolo is still the powder board, but the Custom has been retired by the T.Rice. I'm sure the TRS is great too, but I wanted the extra width for powder and stability for hardpack. BUY THIS BOARD. IT IS NO JOKE.

What's up guys, I'm seriously jonesing on the T.Rice Pro Model C2-BTX but I'm 6' 2" 200lbs I don't ride park but prefer to rip the mountain and glades. I've been riding a Joey Maguire Lib Tech board for about ten years and it's ready to go into retirement..I like to run things into the ground. Couple of questions, what do you think about the board size I should be ridding, and what's the deal with the blunt tip over the pointy? Also any other Lib Tech suggestions?
Cheers guys, Johnny

I read several warnings about how this board was not for beginners and let me just say that I was quite surprised to use this board (in my 3rd day of snowboarding after a 14 year hiatus). It was ultra responsive and quite honestly felt squirrely. it took about 2 days to get used to the responsiveness, but now I am confident that it was a good choice because one can tend to recover out of most poor landings in jumps.
I don't know much about snowboarding, but I do know that I like this board :)

I have ridden many many different lib tech and gnu boards (lived next to a plant and got to demo for yrs) and this is the best yet. Some reviews say the turn initiation is a little hard and that the board is a little to stiff but I found it to be a breeze to carve with and the flex was firm but not too much. I ride at very high speeds and this board sits on either edge when you bomb and has no wiggle in the rear. Most stable high speed board I've been on. Tons of pop to blast boxes and very forgiving on blow outs. I guess I can't say enough about how much I loved it from the first run. If you want a serious all mountain deck than look hard at this Trice.

Hey Xun,
Unfortunately we can only ship Lib Tech within the US or to Canada. No China. If you have someone you can send the board to either in the US or Canada and want to find out shipping prices, please just add the item to your cart and fill out the necessary shipping information. You will get prices for shipping before payment is required.

Ive always ridden true camber boards. I decided I wanted something a little different, and have never really been into full rockers. I decided to give the hybrid a try and absolutely love it. The rocker zone of the T. Rice is smaller, so it doesn't ride as loose as a full rocker. I don't know if its the swing weight or the magnatraction, but it is extremely responsive, similar to a full camber board. The T. Rice has a lot of power and great pop, too. I've ridden it on hard pack, ice, and in spring like conditions and it has performed very well. I haven't had the chance to take it out in any snow deeper than a couple inches, but I'm sure it will live up to the hype in pow too. The only downside thus far is that it can be a little catchy at higher speeds on hard pack because of the magnatraction. A small price to pay for a great board.
As a side note, be sure to keep an eye on your board or lock it up when you step inside for lunch. I had my T. Rice stolen the first night I took it out after only about two hours of riding. (I ride my boards pretty hard and they are always beat up and in no condition that would incline someone to steal them, so I didnt think twice about leaving it off to the side out of view... wont make that mistake again.) Long story short, I liked the board enough from the two hours of riding to buy another one (and a cheap lock)!

In previous years, 2010 and before, I wasn;t the biggest fan of the t.rice with the aggressive C2 shape and stiffness. Currently I'm on the 153 and absolutely love it.
I couldn't aggree more with tomassend1595179. The progressive flex is probably why I love this board so much, pow and packed butters are no problem and this has plenty of support for hucking your stuff as shown my the riceman himself.
I like using the word support with this board as stiffness sends out the wrong idea but it's pretty incredible how you can really flex and work the board with having plenty of confindence knowing the tip or tail will keep you up right.

So, the 157 wouldn't be too big of a board if you ride hard and encounter a bit more rougher/choppier terrain. That's the only time I wish I went bigger. Other than that the 153 has been a perfect all mountain jib board. If you do butters/presses and the sorts it may be a bit big.

Sick Daryl, glad you are happy with it too.
I think you are right on with the term 'support'......and yeah, the board is totally workable and just kind of locks in exactly where you want it.
Sizing, I am 6'4" and 225 lbs. The 164 punches me right where my collar bone hits the sternum. There is no need to ride it any bigger.

Guys i am really considering selling it for a smaller board. I am 6'0 boot size 10.5 and weight in at 170-175 . I fluctuate between 160-185 during seasons because i lift a lot of weights. I cant seem to learn on this board, i borrowed my friends burton 155 and was doing amazing on it. Should i sell the 161.5 for a 157, will i see a huge difference in turning. It is so hard for me to turn on the 161.5.
Thanks!
Amos
Member since
There are a lot of things to consider when buying a new board. First of, the problems turning with your 161.5 is probably partly due to the size, like you said, but it equally has to due with the type of board. The t.rice made for people who want to charge like rice. It's stiff and designed designed so you have to put effort into turning.
Also what type of riding do you do? If you ride park you should definitely size down. Overall, i would say size down AND get a softer, easier to turn, board.

How tall you are on a board makes a big difference. Should be nose to chin level.
I think Nose is freeride and chin is freestyle.

Snappy. Responsive. A pretty board. Thought it would be a little softer but now that I've risen it I'm happy it's a little stiffer. Amazing though, I love it.

I've been riding Libs for about 10 years now and this is my 4th T.Rice pro(third 157). There's something about the size and and construction of this board that connects to me. I'm not anywhere near the rider Travis is, but I'm about the same size as him and I feel like this board is built for the guy with a little bigger of a foot (10.5-11.5) and in the 180-200 lbs range. This board absolutely slays any terrain you put in front of it and is one of those things were the board will definitely out ride the rider.

Hi, I'm 5'8'' tall girl and my weight is 53-55 kg. I need this deck for all mountain riding and for deep snow. I'm not sure which size is more suitable for me 153 or 157. Will be 153 enough for deep snow? And will I be able to butter on 157? I'm a bit confused, please advise :)
Great

I just got it. I personally would go with the 150 in size because it has the flex of 5 which is the same as the skate banana. The bigger size the stiffer it gets. You can butter the 150 around and press but with the bigger sizes it would be harder because the flex gets stiffer 6, 7, to an 8 in the bigger sizes.
great board!

This board is an insane board,by an insane guy. Travis rice is an all around big mountain freestyler, and i think his board pretty accurately represents his style. I have the 2013 t rice pro in a 150. Sweet graphics and a great hard charging board for pow, jumps and doesnt do a bad job on rails either.

The Lib Tech Travis Rice is an all-mountain charger that tracks perfectly through the pipe, is snappy in and out of turns, glides in powder and fires off jumps.
C2 POWER BANANA CAMBER / BANANA BLEND (C2 BTX):
Travis Rices favorite blend for aggressive power snowboarders pushing the envelope. Rocker between your feet blended with a radial camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a solid amount of pressure to the tip and tails for power end-to-end stability, pop and maximum control in critical situations while maintaining float.
MAGNE-TRACTION (MTX):
Magne-Traction serrated edges cut into the snow like a knife giving you more edge hold and control than ever before. Magne-Traction features 7 strategically located and sized bumps along each side of your sidecut. The Biggest bumps are at and between your feet where your balance is centered adding maximum control and power where you need it most. The bumps outside your feet are smaller and less aggressive providing tip and tail control but maintaining freestyle freedom. Magne-Traction is wiggles that work. Viva Technology.
MAGNE-TRACTION FREESTYLE ADVANTAGE:
One of the best things about Magne-Traction is that the extra edge hold you get allows you to ride your board de-tuned for the park and rails and still get great edge hold all over the mountain. Take a file and round your edges so they dont hang up on the rails, boxes, or ledges. Then go ride everywhere!
TRUE TWIN:
Absolutely perfect twin geometry, tried and true science with MTX, or the added advantage of new Banana Technology and or Camber Combo.
SINTERED UHMW BASE MATERIAL:
Super tough base material that holds wax well due to its compression formed amorphous polymer structure. Super fast when waxed with Oneballjay.
CORRECT SANDWICH:
SUPER LIGHT SPIN WEIGHT! The perfect blend of pickles and mustard. UHMW sidewalls, Power Transfer Internal Sidewalls, torsionally loose. The new kids think they are new!
DOUBLE SINTERED UHMW SIDEWALLS:
A Lib Tech innovation. Twice as sintered as any other sidewall. Tough, handsome and light.
H-POP CORE
Wood Alloy Core. Experimental new dead tree with the highest compression response ever used in a snowboard. It has half the glue weight and absorbs less resin weight. Another industry first for Lib Tech.
BIO-PLASTIC BEANS:
ExperiMENTAL division leader Mike Olson loves beans! When hes not eating them hes buying plastics made with them. Lib Tech has made a commitment to using a new earth friendly, bio-plastic top skin made from beans that features the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry.
POWER TRANSFER INTERNAL SIDEWALLS:
The same futuristic power 90º pop technology from our world record setting skateboards and power transfer spines only this time we have placed it along the sidewall of your board to add board control to our sandwich construction. Stronger, more pop, and more control brought to you by our Woodshop!

Sup guys if you are looking for a board that can shred everything that the mountain offers pick up this deck and you will be more than pleased. I picked up this deck last year coming from the Skate Banana which is a great park board great for jibs and mostly rockered. With this board you get like it says a Rocker-Camber combo and it is amazing that camber makes a huge difference. The camber added into the deck makes the board super stable at high speeds and charge hard. I straightlined by my friends that were on other brands its sintered base is very fast. Incase you are looking at the flex seeing on here it says 7 and your worried its too stiff. For the board sizes it goes for the 150cm = 5 flex, 153cm = 6 flex, 157cm = 7 flex. Think I might try out the 150cm since they offer that this year and see if i can press that board better on rails This board is the definition of your top quiver killer deck.
I use it with 2012 Union Contact Pros. Also if you like this deck the brother deck to this is the GNU Riders Choice. IF you got any questions about this deck feel free to ask

whats your height weight im 155-163 5ft 8 and leaning towards the 153. im beginner/intermediate but think ill handle the deck and learn on it.noticed it has an ample effective edge for a 153 and also the softer flex may favor my lack of experience. Hope im making the right choice vs the attack banana i appreciate any advise fellow rippers
pucp338682

to Joe Shmo yes they are basically the same board. they are brothers basically one is GNU the other LIB both made by Mervin Mfg.
to ipg100899168 I stand just over 5ft 10 and vary from 155-165(stupid metabolism) I currently ride the 153. Like I was saying I even want to see how the smaller deck at 150 would do. For you being beginner/intermediate I tend to stick people in that category on a shorter deck. I have been selling boards for 2 years and been a rental tech and tuner for 2 years as well(so you know my knowledge).
Hope i Helped you both out. Happy Shredding!
