Don't lose your loving touch.
Your touchscreen was meant to be touched, so keep your phone safe without sacrificing the thing that makes it so special by protecting it with the Lifeproof Nuud Galaxy S3 Case. Like other Lifeproof cases, the Nuud GS3 is submersible in up to six feet of water for up to an hour, totally sealed against dirt and dust, fully enclosed to keep melting snow and ice out, and can withstand drop impacts from up to six feet. Unlike other cases, however, this one forms a waterproof seal around the screen while keeping it open to direct touch so you're still touching the actual touchscreen. Add to this a sleek profile, enhanced sound, and full access to every function and control, and you have yourself a no-brainer. Just don't wait around until the next time you drop your phone in the toilet before picking one up.
- Waterproof, dust-proof, shock-proof, and snow-proof
- Sleek, low-profile design

Phone broke in case
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
From day one this case gave me issues. First the headphone jack plug ripped out and now it snags on about everything. The back side is nice and smooth, but the plastic quickly got scratched up. What finally killed me about this case is its lack of drop/shock protection. I dropped my phone while trying to put it in my pocket and it fell on a tile floor from 3 feet above the ground. The case was in perfect condition but the force of the impact destroyed the screen sensor, and now I am without a phone.
There are some nice things about this case such as the side volume and screen lock button covers. To make the case "Nuud" there is an awkward button that goes over the home button. This button also slightly inhabits the access to the back and menu buttons.
Obviously the quality of LifeProof cases has greatly decreased since their award winning iPhone Fre case. When I get my phone replaced I plan on returning to the Otterbox Commuter case.
included pieces and open front cover
This shows the phone poking through the front cover. The front is literally open and has a seal around the edge to keep dirt, water, etc out. I believe this is what separates the Nuud from the Fre. The Fre has an actual clear cover over the front.
Protection at it's finest?
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I received this as a gift.
I have not gone around throwing, burying in dirt or dropping my phone in the toilet; However, if the claims hold true, this case takes care of everything. Water, dust, snow, ice, shock/drops.
Good - the case is slim. I was surprised at the overall size (smaller than expected) given the fact that it surrounds the phone. The phone's face is open and uncovered which is nice for actual use. it is waterproof due to a seal that runs around the edge. The back of the case is clear and shows the actual back of your phone through the glass.
Bad - Not sure if this is actually bad or not. being that the actual screen is uncovered, you do not have protection if you were to drop directly on a rock etc. However, Given that the GS3 uses a strong gorilla glass and you can put an included scratch/protection film over the screen... this may be a non issue.
Your main gain for the money is waterproofing.
Overall a very cool product that protects your phone without turning it into a giant brick.
