These mittens busted open the first time
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
I ordered 2 pairs of mittens for an upcoming trip to CO. I returned one pair the day before I flew out and kept the Neff pair. On the first day out on the snow, these mittens busted open. There was a hole on the inside of the mitten and all the stuffing/filling was exposed. Besides this, the mittens fit very well - they are a more narrow fit, but long enough for my long fingers. The mittens kept my hands VERY warm, when I finnagled the lining such that my thumb was not poking through the lining. Since the gloves were damaged/defective, I will be returning these mittens immediately.
What does 'Hipora waterproof/breathable...
What does 'Hipora waterproof/breathable insert keeps your hands dry' mean? Are these waterproof or not? The word 'insert' is throwing me off....I want the entire glove to be waterproof haha. Please explain? Thanks!
A lot of gloves and mittens do the waterproof/breathable insert because it helps pull away the moisture closer to your skin, making the glove more breathable. If the breathable layer was on the outside, your hand would sweat and get the insulation wet and then your hand would freeze from your own sweat being trapped in the glove.
Is there a size chart?
Is there a size chart?
Hey there Rexp, we don't currently have a size chart up for these mittens, but they are very similar to the women's gloves from the same brand. Size chart (measured from tip to wrist) is XS=5", S=5"-5.5", M=5.5"-6", L=6"-6.5" and XL=6.5"-7". Hope that helps :)
My first pair of mittens... when I went riding for the first time.. they were ripped on the inside, hard to get on and the wax that you put on them to protect them makes them looked weird. Very very warm though!
