Strike the slopes with exceptional float and precision.
The Never Summer Cobra Snowboard offers an ultra-aggressive, all-mountain ride that's built for straight-lining chutes and dropping gigantic cliffs. This directional twin offers a 0.5-inch stance set-back, drawn-out nose, and blunted tail for added float in fresh snow, helping the nose stay afloat when you're blasting through bottomless pow and heavy spring snow. Built with Never Summer's proven Rocker Camber profile, the Cobra gives you rocker underfoot for a bit of added play, also keeping you centered when tracking through deep snow. There's camber just after the binding inserts for powerful precision and pre-loaded pop without the catchy feel of fully cambered decks.
Reducing foot fatigue, the board's Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers reduce high-speed chatter and nasty vibrations from rough, bumpy terrain. Carbonium laminates deliver instantaneous response and a stiffer torsional feel, making the Cobra comfortable charging big-mountain lines at high speeds. Adding edge grip on those icy, hardpacked days, the board's Vario Power Grip sidecut blends multiple sidecut radiuses together, maximizing edge hold when conditions are less than optimal.

With the exception of sizing, base and being Carbonium vs Cornerstone how is this board actually different from the Snowtropper? The new color scheme is pretty sweet though!
Check out this beta on the Snowtrooper:
They state that the Snowtrooper leans more towards freestyle riding where is the Cobra is more aggressive, better suited for all mountain shredding/bigger powder days. Their review is fairly consistent with how Never Summer describes the boards on their website. I'm considering buying either the Cobra or Snowtooper (leaning towards the Cobra) to accompany my Rome Agent Rocker.
I was torn too, NS cobra or NS snowtrooper.. I going with the Cobra.
For what it's worth....I had a Cobra and rode it about 12 says last year in Mammoth, Montana and Utah and liked it, but didn't love it. I have a Proto CT and love it, and found it to be just as good, if not more fun in deep pow, which is the reason I eventually sold the Cobra. I recently purchased the Snowtrooper to replace the Cobra for pow days and non park days. The 159 feels like the perfect size as the 161 Cobra felt a tad too big. I also found the Cobra to be pretty stiff and not very playful, which is fine if it holds an edge super well, but found that my old SL held a better edge hold than the Cobra. The shape on the Cobra is pretty straight and I found it to be a bit washy at high speeds on hardpack. I haven't been on my snoetrooper yet, but I can already tell the thing is going to be insane. Killer shape, flex and weight. Looks like a perfect all around board, def more playful than Cobra. I've had 3 SL's one Proto and a Cobra and would take the Proto or SL/Snowtrooper over the Cobra 10 times out of 10.
