Never Summer Evo Snowboard - 2010

Never Summer crafted the EVO Snowboard for the rider who wants nothing more than to spread butter and distribute jib-nasty on every man-made and natural feature in sight. Never Summer's blend of rocker and camber lets you flex your creativity but doesn't sacrifice stability when pushing your pipe skills to new heights.

  • R.C. (rocker and camber) technology provides the smooth turns and float of rocker (middle) with stability and pop of camber (outside of binding mounts)
  • Press Flex core utilizes softer material between the bindings that acts like a hinge for superior freestyle flex
  • Vario Power Grip sidecut features deep, shallow, and no radius shapes for the ideal blend of bite, smooth turn transition, and stability
  • Evo Dampening Systems (rubber layer) increases stability and adds rebound without sacrificing flex or adding excess weight
  • Carbon VXR laminates from the binding mounts to the tip and tail add ollie/takeoff pop and landing support
  • Fully wrapped edges reduce the chance of topsheet or base de-lamination and create an exceptionally durable board
  • P-Tex tip and tail protector add even more durability

Bottom Line: Evolutionize your riding.

I've got a size 12 boot and the Evo 161 with a pair of Burton Elevator binding riser plates and I get very little, if any toe drag.

Palmer also has binding riser plates. You should definitely check them out as they work awesome for me!

Yeah most likely. Some times toe drag isn't a huge issue but if your toes hang over a lot you can definitely catch them when turning. With a 12 look for a waist width of at least 255mm or higher, probably 260mm would work well for you.

awesome board

By:
November 7, 2010

ive benn riding this board for the last 2 seasons and i must say, for me it is by far the best freestyle board on the market performance an quality wise, mine already took about 150 days of heavy beatings in the park and still got some life left in it!!!
Super buttery, stable at high speed, carvs great and works incredibly good in powpow. Excellent allaround freestyle board. Some of my friends tried it and all agreed that the boards they ride are shit compared with evo, some of them got themselves one quick,
One thing - you really need to work hard on those edges before you start hiiting rails and boxes.

this stick rocks. got last years model and it shreds everything from park to mountain. super buttery. this boards super flexy when you need it to be and yet stiff and stable enough to bomb tables and groomers. i progressed more in the 5 times i rode this stick last year than i have all 11 years of riding. seriously awesome stick. plus built in good ol denver baby!

100% Satisfied

By:
February 21, 2011

If you read these posts then you will see I was debating between several different boards. But, I am so glad that I choose this board, it is exactly what I was looking for.
It is fun, and flexible and very forgiving; the R.C. tech is perfect and allows board to be playful, but still bomb at high speeds; its light, but still very very well built; it can kill the powder in the morning, and then do park laps the rest of the day. It is a perfect quiver killer, and does everything on the mountain extremely well. All USA made, and include Never Summer's 3 year warranty!
This board is perfect for me, and I am so glad that I got it.

I ride this board with the Rk30's by FLux
This board flows nice in pow, with the dual camber and the rocker in between the bindings. good grip and edge to edge control on icy conditions. Butters like a rocker, pops like a camber. Super fun to ride all mountain from park to pow to groomers to anywhere u want. i ride this in 158 , a little big for me im 5'9 142 lbs 14 years old. I can stil spin around on this board like if it was a 153. Over all this board is great for boxes, rails, jumps, some carves and it's AMAZING in powder.. Check it out.

is there any difference between youths 142 and adult sizes? i

is there any difference between youths 142 and adult sizes? i am 5'2 and 115 lbs adult. but i am afraid youth sizes are not as durable or the same as adult sizes. i remember reading from the never summer uk site that last years 142 evo only has standard camber tech and seems to lack the vario grip vs. the adults r.c tech vario grip system. if that is the same as this year then i would much rather get the 148. anyone can give me any advise?

By:
January 17, 2011

Killer or filler? (0) (0)

yeah there is a little difference in flex (stiffness and flex patterns) a kids board will be a little softer and a little less durable because companies dont put the same effort in to kids boards because they will grow out of them faster. and thats also why they are cheaper

the 142 is perfecto 4 u it does only have a one year warrenty cause the cores is softer which is the only difference but the 142 will be good 4 your size and it does have vario and the r.c. tech i love dogfunk but u can get the 142 on other sites for $280 so if u do deside to get the 142 type neversummer evo 142 in on google and youll find a cheaper price i talked to the owner of neversummer and he said theres nothing special about the 142 that dogfunk sells for $490 its the same thing as the $280 one

i currently ride a skate banana 156. i chose that board over this one because of the magnatraction edges.

this is a really advanced park and jib board but its also super nice on the slopes and pow because of the reverse camber.
i personally like the skate banana but i cant say that magnatraction is that helpful, sometimes i feel like it makes my landings harder when i land sketchy.
that stuff doesn't happen with the evo.

How stiff is this board compared to others?
-I have a NS and it said it was not that stiff, but it is crazy stiff; given it is few years old so the rating system may have changed. I also have a burton and it says it is a "3" and it is a limp noodle!
Basically is this board stiff and responsive enough to do it all, or should I just get the SL?

By:

the evo is soft but its not really a noodle because of camber/rocker, but it kind of depends on what you want. The evo can do a lot, if you ride mainly park with the occasional trip to other parts of the mountain, get the evo. If you're an all mountain rider than the SL would be the better choice

Oh man! I'm freaking out cuz I love the Evo. But I own the Rider's Choice! I love the RC also! Ok, here's the deal...I demo'd last year's Evo and fell in love with it. Then I bought last year's Rider's Choice and loved it too! However, THIS YEAR, the Rider's Choice has rocker and camber just like the Evo, so I'm totally pumped to try that out, and cant comment on which company did it better. I'll say this...the Evo was more flexible than the Rider's Choice (however, i must say this could be caused by the fact that the evo was a demo and had been broken in much better than my rider's choice). Overall dude, I'd say you cant go wrong with either board! The magnatraction took me some time to get used to, but after i did I thought it was the bee's knees. Bottom line...either board is a great choice! Hell, buy both off dogfunk, and return the one you dont like! Check out Dogfunk's return policy...BEST COMPANY IN THE WORLD!!!!

love you DF!
