Niche Knew Snowboard - 2011

The Niche Knew Snowboard combines eco-friendly construction with a super-jibby design for next-level fun on park jibs, street rails, and backyard boxes. Every aspect of the Knew is designed to minimize environmental impact, from the recycled sidewall, base, and laminate materials to the sustainably-farmed wood core and HempHop stringers. On top of all that, it's got a soft flex and flat profile that pops off lips, locks into rails, and won't hang up during squirrely landings

  • Flat profile offers great balance during slides and presses, plenty of pop, and fewer edge hangups
  • HempHop stringers replace non-sustainable carbon for improved ollie power
  • Magma Fiber basalt replaces traditional fiberglass for a damper, lighter, and less-toxic laminate
  • Snappy Sap Bio-Resin is made from reclaimed paper and bio-fuel industry wastes for great bonding with fewer harmful chemicals during construction
  • Sustainably farmed poplar wood core is poppy, light, and earth-conscious
  • Partially-recycled extruded base is tough as nails and easy to repair

Bottom Line: If Captain Planet were a jib rat, he'd ride the Know.

Park Killer

For all around jib destruction and buttery fun, The Knew is the way to go. Hands down one of the best flat camber boards around. It's dampness and stability at any speed is what really makes this board stand out among the rest.
the best thing about this board? Instead of using fiberglass, this board uses Basalt in its construction. Not only is it lighter and stronger, but basalt repels water instead of absorbing it. What does this mean for you? Boards Delaminating are a thing of the past, kid!

add that to the feeling of knowing you have one of the most eco-friendly snowboards in the market under your feet equal up to some good times on the mountain.

buy this board. You won't regret it.

On a trip to Bear this past spring we scored a few precious minutes of shred time with team rider Todd Robertson, who gave us the lowdown on our jib board, the Knew.

good solid park deck

The Knew is Niche's park deck. Its labeled as soft but its park soft not urban soft so dont expect a noodle. Best attribute of the Knew is how damp of a ride it gives despite being a park board... in fact Im 6'1 and over 200lbs and was able to ride the 152 at Snowbird in the spring. A fun a durable board the only downside is its extruded base which keeps it a bit slower than some of its counterparts. Reminds me of boards like Capitas Indoor Survival and Rides Machete.. youll love this board!
