Hi there,

Just got this jacket and am totally stoked. Am I right in thinking this thing should hold up to the occasional rain storm, since it has 10k waterproof rating and the seams are fully taped? Reason I ask is, looking at the jacket, it is hard to tell that the seams are taped at all, least not like your typical gore tex shell. And taped seams are one of the reasons I bought this thing. Am I not seeing things right?

thanks,

Otto

Would you recommend a jacket like this for skiing in canada or is an insulated jacket not really necessary? Also, what is the waterproof rating for this jacket?

Hey Silas,

You could definitely roll with a down jacket in Canada. Especially in the middle of the season riding chairs. Outside of that, it would depend on how warm of a person you are naturally or how much you like to layer.

If you get cold easily, then I would grab this for most anything Winter in Canada, even with slight layering. If you are warm all the time, then maybe dial it back to a jacket that has 60 grams of synthetic insulation at most.

Also, this jacket is a 10/10 I.E. it has a 10,000mm waterproof rating and a 10,000gr breathability rating. Not too shabby for a down jacket.
