Description

Proven across the globe.

From Nico Mueller dissecting hairy lines in the Alps, to Austin Smith sending booters and hitting rails across America, the Nike team has tested the Zoom Kaiju Men's Snowboard Boot just about everywhere there's snow and it's stood up to every test. The sole comes from Nike's running shoes and provides superior board feel and energy transfer, and the Outlast liner with space blanket technology keeps your feet warm for long days in the backcountry and long nights on the streets.

Inspired by Nike's Free sole on their top-of-the-line running shoes, the Kaiju's sole is very stiff from toe-to-heel for lightning-quick response, yet flexible from side-to-side for superior board feel. Neoprene flex zones allow you to tweak grabs and lay into turns without sacrificing support. The liner is heat-moldable for a custom fit, and internal liner lacing keeps your heel locked in to reduce fatigue. Space blanket technology under the footbed reflects heat back to your foot to help it stay warmer for longer. A Zoom Air heel cushion absorbs harsh impacts to protect your feet from big drops and overshot landings.Traditional lacing with Lace Lock allows you to independently adjust the tightness of the upper and lower zones of the boot so you can dial it in just how you like it.

  • Traditional lacing with Lace Lock
  • Neoprene flex zones
  • Full-length internal backstays
  • Custom moldable liner
  • Internal liner lacing and powerstrap
  • Nike Zoom Air heel cushion
  • Warming Blanket strobel
  • Nike-Free-inspired sole

Hey Ben,
It doesn't look like we have any more ordered to come in for this season- my bet is that we won't be getting in any more Nike boots until next fall for the 14-15 season!

Great boot

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been snowboarding for 15+ years. I've used this bout for about 20 days this season in the Wasatch range of Utah. They've been used for powder, boiler plate, park (jumps and jibbing), and dropping 20+ foot cliffs. They are the most comfortable and versatile boot i've ever risen straight out of the box. Like others have said they do have a narrow toe box, but I have a narrow foot so it works perfect for me. I just switched from 3 years of Burton Ions, DC Judge (dual boa) and an old pair of 32s (laces) and these seem to have the same toe/heel response of the Ion, with a more predictable dare I say smoother flex, while having better ankle articulation for tweaking out grabs without sacrificing support for stunning big landings. With Nico Mueller designing this boot you can't go wrong. Also, the flex retention is way better than any other boot I've used. After the same amount of days the Ion started to break down in the toe box and the heel spine lost some rebound. I haven't had this problem with the Kaiju. The Kaiju is an awesome all around boot for the advanced-expert rider not looking for a pseudo-hard shell stiff boot for racing BX or Alpine.

Hey Ben,

Thank you for your question.

At this time we do not have any orders for new inventory of this boot. I am very sorry.

Comfortable, but fragile

These boots are awesome, most comfortable boots I've ever rode in. The problem is the "carbon fiber" backs snap very easily. I broke 2 pairs of these this season and can say that if you ride hard and a lot these boots will break. I'm also a big guy I weigh 225 pounds and enjoy charging lines. I think these boots were built for a smaller park rider. Both pairs broke right around wear number 20. I also split boarded 10+ times and never got blisters or anything. Comfy from day one. If you're a bigger rider that rides tough I would go with a stiffer boot.

Mmmmm Hmmmm.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

Recipient says: "The comfort level of these boots is out of control. Also, the flex is perfect for everything. Not too stiff so your ankles are immobile but enough support for charging. Lacing is precise and don't require re-tying throughout the day. Fit is true to size but more on the narrow side.
Only down side is that they are a little long. My old Burton SLX in the same size had significantly less toe hanging over the edge so my euro carves are a little less euro."

Great boots

Gave these as a gift to someone who normally spends about 80 days a year in them. Usually you have a rough break in period with boots that no one really looks forward to, but he said after a couple hours they were feeling great and they didn't hurt him. They stand up to all the abuse he's put them through so far working on the mountain, which is awesome!

these boots were made for snowboarding

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

...and that's just what they'll do. Most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Say goodbye to sore feet. They are a bit on the softer side, so park riding is where they do best. However they are still firm enough to enjoy the occasional pow day. They look just as good as they feel too, people are always complimenting them. Warmth-wise they do pretty well, just fine for most days but can get a little chilly when the temps drop below 20 F, unless you have really warm socks. I wear size 11 in street shoes, and size 10 in this boot.

Rediculous!!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This boot is the mecca of boots, so comfy, so clean, super sick profile, and well made.... worth every penny spent.

Rediculous!!!!

When will you have more Black and Gold in size 10.0 back in stock?

Best Answer Responded on

Lonp,

I've looked at what is on order for the Black & Gold in a size 10.0 and it looks like we have a few pairs coming in.

I'd suggest checking in every 3-4 days as they will be arriving soon (my apologies on not being able to provide an exact date).

Your feet will thank you.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

There is nothing more important to your snowboard setup than your boots. Comfortable and warm feet allow you to ride longer and harder. The Nike Kaiju is one the most comfortable boots out there. Its super lightweight and looks good. These run a little on the softer side and thus are the park riders favorite in the Nike line. The internal lacing keeps your foot snugly into the heel. The liner is heat-moldable and super cush. The outsole provides plenty of traction on slippery surfaces. I'd recommend these boots to anyone looking for a medium/soft boot that really excels in the park (thanks to flex and cushioning) but will still perform great all over the mountain.
