This jacket has light insulation, so it will be warmer than normal shell jackets. I wear insulated jackets almost every time I ride - they keep you much warmer without adding a bunch of bulk. You will be stoked on this jacket!

does this jacket have a zipper all the way down? or is it a pull-over,

Whatup Marcus, this jacket does zip all the way down. The pocket is attached with velcro on one side. to unzip, lift the pocket.

A medium will fit you true to size, large will give you some extra bagginess. You could go either way depending on your style.
