Nixon 42-20 Watch - Men's
The Nixon 42-20 Tide Watch is the slightly smaller version of the massive (and massively heralded) 51-30 model. Same solid stainless-steel case with screwdown crown, same Swiss movement, same heavy, all-business look. Same burly 200-meter water resistance too, plus a 24-hour analog tide subdial. Just not quite as likely to tear your shoulder from the socket when you paddle out into the lineup or reach for another beer.
Bottom Line: Not small, just not huge.

Nixon applies a very basic lume to the hands and numbers on their 42-20 and 51-30 watches, but it requires a fairly substantial 'charge' under a powerful light source (a flashlight, an LED lamp, the sun, etc.) for even a brief glow lasting only a few minutes.

why doesn't nixon provide instructions with the purchase of a watch. i have the 42-20 but i cant figure out how to work the dials correctly. the place i purchased the watch couldn't help me out either. can someone help me out?

i just recieved my nixon 42-20 tide all black watch... and it is totally sik... the band is black metal, the face is matt black with bacl gloss numbers and hands. so the whole watch is black out... great tough looking watch.. with a hidden bonus, when wearing the watch outside the numbers and hands are black but when you step into a dark room the hands and numbers glow a lush blue coulour...
ive gone from wearing a tag heuer to this and i get more comments with the nixon.
tough rugged and understated... i love it.

This is modeled after a diving style watch, many high end watch brands have been turning this type a watch into a fashion thing for years , it's definitely not a trend. If you like it, get it despite the trends. Besides, your pimp slap will ahve that much more weight behind it.
