I own the PU black/purple as well as the metal high polish. the pu band is very comfortable and doesnt get all sweaty and stuck to the skin the way a rubber band might. also it feels about half the weight of the metal. i would not recommend an black on black face because it is very hard to read even with the luminous dial. ive seen Bj novak from "the office" wear this watch.(in black/blue) jeremy piven has a gunmetal, and one of the black eyed peas wears the gold/brown. very versitile and a genuine must have from nixon.

Super clean watch, my new FAVORITE. The PU band is soooo comfy. Also the PU is waterproof unlike the leather bands found on the other 51-30s which is hella tight. Just a clean 5/5 watch in my book.

"Self-winding/automatic?" Not quite, the 51-30 PU is a Swiss quartz movement, and still needs a regular watch battery for the juice.

This watch is really big and really heavy. To the point that I take it off for beerpong. I only wear it when I go out but its super stylish and the ladies love it. Black/Black with the metal band. Once you buy it, you might have to take it to a watch shop to adjust the band or order another locket. All and all, worth the money and I might get another one!

love Nixon watches - this one is their best!
Looks like i ripped a clock of the wall and slapped it on my wrist - everyone notices it, gets the job done perfectly! no issues, not all that heavy if you get the PU version. Metal band looks icy, but it might make you look like fratted-out d-bagger with with all that shiny silver - go with PU or leather.
white face black band looks classic - gives it that less-is-more look

Some of the older colorways have the older, italicized style Nixon type, while the newer ones use the more boxy font, as seen in most of the stock photos above, and on Nixonnow.com.

Bit large, but comfortable. Band locks so stays on in wicked conditions. Bit hard to get off. Tide function (my primary interest) is primitive but not intrusive as with most tide watches that are primary for that purpose.

I love my nixon. The only thing is for the first couple of days I was not used to having such a big watch I keep hitting it on everything, doorways, tables, and ect. After some getting used to, I have to say it is the best watch I ever owned.
