I have the White and Gold one and its not real gold...can't speak for the all gold one but my guess would be if it is real its just plated because these watches heavy as balls and that would be like 1000 bucks worth of gooooooooold

This watch looks so awesome in person...it looks big but on your arm its not that bad and it looks pretty classy...it does weigh a little more than an average watch but it is quality Nixion and their warranty program is awesome..if you are looking for something different and some compliments, you can't go wrong with this watch...

Frank, the watch looks great in person. Its hard to capture the actual wood face in photos and each photo will look different. I will say it looks just as rich as it does on Nixon's site.

got this in gold and black .. amazing and huge .. i can't even count how many people have stopped me to look at it .. i thought i was getting in to a watch phase where i'd buy a bunch of Nixon's .. got a Private and Quattro .. then a 51-30 .. stopped buying them because it's by far the sickest watch i've seen yet .. i don't even want to wear anything else .. get this watch!

The curvy font is the older font, the newer is the straight font, Nixon started to use the new in 2010 I believe :)

Older stock photos are of the lowercase lettering, but all our current stock, and Nixon's current branding reflect the NIXON capitalization.

Yo Anthony, the 51-30 above has Swiss Movement, and the 51-30 Chrono (the version with the stopwatch/chronograph) has Japanese movement. No performance or quality issue for you to worry about, it's just the movement choice by Nixon. Just choose the colorway that you like the most!

I have had 7 Nixon watches now, but I'd have to say this is my favorite by far. I'd been wanting a black watch for a while and decided to go with the 51-30. I've been very impressed. It's huge, weighty, and feels really good on the wrist. The construction is very solid from the clasp to the bevels. Looks really good with everything and the large numbers on the face pop. I'd recommend this watch to anyone.

The Black/Purple colorway isn't quite as dark as our photo in person. While the purple is dark, it's not totally murdered out, so you won't have trouble making out the time. Also, there's a little bit of luminescence in the hands, and around the face, although this glow doesn't last too long in total darkness, without a periodic sunlight recharge.

I've got the silver one with the black face, killer watch - its got a 300-meter waterproof rating, making it awsome for diving, surfing, and pretty much any water-based activity. I took this watch all over south america, was surfing with it, had it in the heat, camping, snowboarding, and it still looks mint. Only complaint is the metal strap pulls the hair on my wrists sometimes :P

I ordered the black with blue numbers and accidentally they sent me the all black one first. It def VERY black.. The numbers are just a bit shiny and less matte but its hard to read. If your looking for a flashier look, go with colored numbers. If you like plain, go with all black.

Ordered the Nixon 51 30 watch from Dogfunk and love it. Great watch and even better service (like always). The watch isn't as big as some think. Wear it for a week or two and you will notice that your other watches look like they were made for a woman's wrist. This watch is hands down the best watch I have ever owned. Straight up gangster.
I already have this watch in all black but with the rubber band.

Unfortunately Nixon does not currently offer bands sold seperately. It might be a possibility in the future though.

This watch balls out of control. It is a clock on your hand. You get the quality you'd expect from Nixon not to mention thought actually went into designing this watch. This watch is loud but its not obnoxious. Its classy but its edgy. It is by far the greatest thing ever and it lands compliments. The people love it!
