Nixon Automatic Watch - Men's - 2006

The Nixon Men's Automatic Watch is a well-constructed, classic timepiece that never needs a battery—it uses your wrist's motion for energy. It is powered by normal movements of the wrist and can hold a charge for 36 hours. The Automatic combines Nixon's distinct and contemporary design with the best in Swiss construction. Created with a sapphire crystal, the only material harder than a diamond, and a tungsten steel bezel, this watch delivers both style and durability. The case is solid stainless steel and water resistant to 200 meters, and you can choose between a sleek titanium carbide or a scratch-resistant coating. A double locking clasp will keep it secure around your wrist. The Automatic also shows the day and date. *Available for US shipment only.

Bottom Line: This well-constructed, human-powered Nixon watch is perfect for movers and shakers.

It's deluxe, son..

I've wanted this watch for a long time. Finally was able to get one. Looks great and keeps time well. I have a smallish wrist and agree with the previous poster that it doesn't overwelm my wrist like the 51-30 does. The deluxe case it comes in is pretty dope. Looks great in my Nixon display case

All Black Bezel Durability

First of all I love this watch. I have a smaller wrist and the dimensions are perfect to give a nice masculine large watch look without it looking ridiculously huge on me. Movement has been smooth and accurate running at ~+10 secs a day which is well within spec. It also only deviates about +-2 seconds from the +10 so I but if I had it regulated it would be close to spot on. Quick change date is sweet as well and seems to turn over about 4 min before midnight.

One nitpick is the bezel on the all black edition. Tungsten shouldn't really scratch...but this is tungsten that is coated black. I got a scratch in the coating and you can see a bit of the silver metal underneath. Pretty dumb to do this with tungsten, they would have been much better using the titanium carbide stainless steel on the bezel as well. The rest of the watch (with the exception of the clasp that I rub on my desk all day) is looking perfect!

How much does this clock weigh? It looks great, but I hate carrying

How much does this clock weigh? It looks great, but I hate carrying around a heavy watch.
How large is it? Does anyone have a photo of it on a hand?

Great Watch...need to take it to a shop, though

By:

This watch is greatly constructed, bold, and solid.

PROS: I wear this everyday in an industrial environment climbing around steel structures, etc...in 8 Months, the tungsten bezel has not scratched, nor has the crystal. there are a couple minor scuffs on the upper parts of the stainless band, but i am very happy with it's durability.

Cons: 1. It seems to run a little slow out of the box. from what i understand, i think a watchmaker can adjust this for me...
2. After about 7 months, the watch inexplicably stopped one day for about 8 hours while actively wearing it, and no amount of time adjustment or winding got it restarted - it just restarted on its own at some unknown time - maybe a trip to the watchmaker can shed some light on this as well.

The Automatic's

By:
December 8, 2006

I am an avid collector with over 80 watches worn regularly. I was looking at the Hamilton Frogman Automatic, over $1300.00, short story, after seeing the white and black faced Nixon's I am the proud owner of both. The Hamilton is on hold. Money well spent, quality is second to none. Great job Nixon! Hope to see more in this class...
