You will know if it's time for dawn patrol or extra sleep with the Men's Lodown Watch from Nixon. With the help of this full-bore tide watch, you won't miss another sick set. Nixon stored tide information from 200 international beaches for the next 15 years inside this watch to keep you charging no matter where in the world you wake up. Keep all this information safe and strapped to your wrist in a tough polycarbonate case. Crash the break first with the Lodown's dual time zones, countdown timer, and a night-light. *Available for US shipment only.
Bottom Line: Be the first to the line up with the Nixon Men's Lodown Watch.
I own that bright ass yellow one. It's not so bright anymore. The band and the face housing have worn differently too so it just kinda looks like sh!t now.
I dont really like the way Nixon charges you before they even know if they need to fix anything, so I basically just wear a watch until I have to throw it away, which is coming up soon for this little guy.
Havent taken it into the Ocean much, so it's held up pretty well in dry air. I mostly just check the tides because the La Jolla tide pools are awesome, but you have to go at low tide. I just check it on my shelf, and that's about the extent of my watch's life now since it's so ugly.
I cant say how the new features are holding up, or if they're worth that $124 price tag, but I think the womens version is BUNK! All the shit thats on the screen, how could you even see it if it's smaller?
It's pretty cool for checking tides... or you could use google!
2 of 5 stars for the old one with the messed up sealant and the discolored funky band.
...Hi! I am going the West Coast Trail in Canada and bought this watch especially for the trip... I need to use a tide tabIe was hoping that some one could tell me which tide table that I could use?? The West Coast Trail is on Vancouver Island. Thanks!!!Lori
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. We do our best to confirm this information is correct, but assume no responsibility for the accuracy of the price and shipping information provided by other vendors.
I was so excited to get my lodown and when i finally got it, the yellow band was stained a dingy grayish yellow after a week! I emailed nixon and they told me that i could send it in, and they would replace the band, but there would be a fee. As far as the functions of the watch, I had to figure it out myself because the package (at least with the one that I bought, didn't have any instructions.
I wore the watch for over a year, despite the dingyness, but then switched back to my baby-g.
If Nixon would have replaced my band for free, or if they would try to figure out some way so it wouldn't get filthy looking again, I wouldn't have any problem with the watch. I was just disappointed that my new watch looked.. well, not new.
hey everyone i need help i figured out how to change the beach and coast and all that but how do i permanently set it to the beach i want please help me thanks
sick watch. anyway i couldn't tell you if the gadgets are useful cause i don't use them but somethin tells me they're great haha. but this watch look so sick esp. in the bright colors :)
As you can tell from a few reviews, we were having some issues with the Lodown.
When we launched this watch we wanted to use better quality materials than the current tide watches on the market. We went ahead and used a mineral crystal instead of an acrylic because the mineral is much more durable and scratch resistant. Down the road we found out that the bonding agent used to seal the face to the case was failing, this caused water to leak into the casing. We have since addressed this issue and all Lodowns now have an updated acrylic crystal guaranteed not to leak.
So get off your ass, put on your Lodown, and head out to one of the 200 pre-programmed beaches to catch some lefts....brah.
Just got my lodown today, and for my first watch it is a little complicated with all of the options and everything, but I'll eventually figure it out. I got the teal/black watch, and it is a little darker than the picture, definitely not as bright. Other than that, the watch is pretty sick, and looks good! The teal may not go with everything, but it does match with most of the clothing in my closet. I also have a pretty small wrist, and the Lodown really doesn't look huge, which was another thing that I was worried about when buying my first watch. I would definitely recommend this watch to a friend. By the way, I would not recommend taking this watch into the ocean, swimming, etc., its not waterproof (says it in the direction booklet).
I bought a lodown during the summer and i have not used it in a couple of weeks and it wont let me change anything then the screen goes blank. Is there anything I can do?
hold down the light button for 5 seconds and it will turn your screen back on, its in like a wierd standby mode, mine was like tht for a week before i figured it out.
Sounds like the battery might not have enough juice to power those basic functions. You can either try having the battery changed at your local jeweler, or if you bought it from Dogfunk, hit up one of our customer service reps by calling in, or using the "chat now" option above to set up a return.
i was so excited to get this watch love the look and colors....had it for less than a month the light was already dimming to a point cant see at all at night....also 2nd tide reset to whatever first tide was after a week...paid $20 to ship it in..after over a month of having my watch they sent me a new one....i have now had it for only 2 weeks and the only water it touched was the shower and its already bugging out the light button does what the quick tide button does!!! and the 2nd tide on this one is reseting after a week or so too again...go with another brand ive never been so dissapointed...oh and customer service still hasnt got back with me about this one...its been about 3-4biz days and they say they will get back by the next biz day.....BUY ANOTHER BRAND NEVER BEEN SO DISSAPOINTED ....and i am def not a complainer...hope this saves you from the troubles i am going through
im reposting this places cause i have never ever bummed about a purchase everr!!!!!
The Lowdown is good for a swim down to 100 meters, so definitely more waterproof than most 12 year-olds would need. As for the size, it's not supermassive, but it is a men's watch. If you were worried about it being too large, I would recommend the Lowdown Small here: http://www.dogfunk.com/nixon-small-lodown-watch-womens?cmp_id=&rrType=ClickCP&rrProd=NIX0859
...And don't worry about it being called a "women's" watch, the only difference is the size.
cool watch and cool colors. cool tide charts too. buuut... it is not fully water proof. me, my dad, and my friend all have had this watch before and if u go in water numerous times it will let water in and it will break. and after a while the buttons on the sides get kinda jammed. cool lookin watch but not good workin
We just had it replaced...and it's been 2-3 weeks and one botten is stuck....so it's not working properly... The last one went blank after 4 weeks of just daily use!! So not sure what to say!
So I just got this watch and I go to Malibu to surf. So does this watch have a beach setting for malibu california and is there a way to get more locations? I think that the Quiksilver Moondak watch is a better tide watch because it has more locations and it is an easier watch to figure out. Very durable and never had issues. Also, the manual was easier to understand cause it told you how to set and adjust your watch and it came with insttructions where as this one did not and its more complicated and doesnt have many popular spots in california.
Hey John, I'm from the east coast and don't really know what beaches are by Malibu, but here are the beaches on the west side of the U.S the Lodown has. Ventura Rincon Santa Barbara Gaviota Point Arguello Morro beach Carmel cove Monterey bay Santa Cruz ocean beach golden gate bodega bay Big river, Mendocino Humboldt bay seaside pacific city ocean side Garibaldi Nahcotta Tofino, BC San Diego La Jolla Encinitas San Clemente Newport Bay Entrance Huntington Beach Cabrillo beach Los Angeles Harbor Ent. Santa Monica
I got this watch a year ago and love it. I don't surf i sail but the tide feature is very useful for anyone who sails competitively or who surfs. I would recommend it.
I wanted to buy a Nixon Lodown Mismatch watch but I could not find the color of the watch I am looking for..please see pic..maybe you have it in stock..tnx!
I have had 3 Lowdowns and they all have broken in one way or another. Bands have broken, watches have filled with water and they all have dis-colored. Nixon products are garbage, the company obviously doesnt have anyone working in quality control....
Im In America and want to buy this watch, however I'm going back to Australia to live in 2 weeks. Does it have Australian beaches programmed into it or only American?
Why can't I order the black and green version of the Drab lowdown. The picture is show for the details, but it's not listed as an option. Does the color exist? It's not on the Nixon website, but it is here.
Hey Chris, kind of a bummer, but we're out of stock of the Black/Green colorway. The regular "Drab" colorway is available, but it's that dark matte gray with Blue accent.
Did you try sending it into Nixon? they have a good warranty program, you don't even need to register your product or have a receipt of purchase, just type in the watches information on their support page and mail it in. I had to replace the battery in mine and they ended up just giving me a brand new watch.
Where can I get replacement wristbands for this watch...? The lodown is pretty cool, got it in white and it s all dirty now... Any ideas where i can get a replacement wristband?
I got the black one for my bf, the watch is really cool the only bad thing about this purchase is that we thought it would be sent to us not activated but for our surprise it was working already, who knows for how long... hopefully we won't have to change batteries too soon... :(
There is a vertical line in the graph. That's where you are at the moment in the tide cycle. To the right is where the tide is going. If the curve is moving up, the tide is increasing. The hump in the graph is the next high tide. If the graph is moving down the trough is the next low tide. The graph to the right shows about the next 8 hours or so.
The Lodown has a Basic Tide function, which allows you to manually set the watch to follow your local tide. The user manual provides instructions on how to use the Basic Tide feature. If you would like someone to explain in further detail, please call Customer Service at 888-455-9200.
I'm looking to buy this to take with me to England, but i've got a few questions first!
1. Can you change the time on it from standard, to military? 2. Can you turn the tide function off so it isnt above the time constantly? Answers would be appreciated, thanks!
removed it from the box, looked good and decided to surf with it immediately. All systems go until I returned from the H2O. All the buttons malfunctioned so watch is worthless to me. Sending it back for a refund!
I disagree you get what you payfor! Nixon has a whole great line of watching ranging for 80 to 500 + dollers! I own 2 Lowdowns and the both have held up great and would hihgly reccomend to someoen who needs to keep track of time while chargin that perfect A-FRame Sesh!
it will be on the larger size for you. the women's watch is classified as a 'medium face' while the men's is a 'large'. there is a 15-20 mm difference between the two. running a large watch isnt a bad thing though!
Looks dope, but not really sure about the quality. The 1st one crapped out the 1ST TIME I PADDLED OUT, within in 5 minutes. It filled with water and then made some crazy Space Invaders beeping noises ... pretty weak. So I chalked it up to bad luck. So I returned it right away, and replaced it with another one. Took about 5 weeks to finally get it credited to my card. These guys seemed to take their sweet time, crediting my account, after I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER ONE, as I was told returns take 3-5 days, right, try 5 weeks. The watch seems ok now, I've been in the water a lot lately and it's good, the tide function is cool, but it's faster when I pull the tide chart on my phone. My sister called it "my scooby-doo" watch, which I thought was funny. Step it up fellas.
You should buy it it mainly has all the main breaks but my beach isnt programmed into but one thats an hour away is so i just use that and it still works good cus the tides are only like 10-15min diff.
i jist got the nixon lodown tide watch, first tide watch. what does chronograph mean? do they hold up good surfing? and are they easy to set up and figure out? thanks, mike (kirbymike@yahoo.com)
CRONOGRAPH, MY BROTHER, MEANS ITS BOTH A TIMEKEEPING AND A STOPWATCH PIECE OF HEVEAN. ID HIGHLY RECOMEND YOU TO WEAR THIS SURFING. NOT A BETTER WATCH FOR THE JOB. NIXON LIKES TO KEEP IT SIMPLE, I FIGURED IT OUT FINE. YOU
