Don the Oakley A Frame Goggles and try farting in them to fog them up. It may sound gross, but it’s probably an effective method for testing Oakley’s integrated dual-lens and surge-vent technology. Or hit the mountain and leave the beans at home. Oakley sealed a layer of air between two fog-treated lenses to reduce the chance of fog accumulating. Vented air circulates through the bottom of the A Frame and back out the top so air doesn’t have a chance to get trapped in your goggle and fog your lens. Impact resistant frames, triple-layer foam with wicking fleece, and total UV protection make the A Frame the workhorse of Oakley’s lineup.
Bottom Line: Your mind might be foggy from last night’s apr??s session, but the Oakley A Frame goggle stays clear all day.
As was mentioned, one of the places to not shop by price is in your goggles (and in my opinion boots). I have owned Dragon DX's, Spy Zeds, and these Oakley A Frames. They by far take the cake. Having these on your face straight up makes your day better. I have NO problems with my peripheral vision, as almost everyone mentioned they look dope, and I have had almost 0 fog issues (any issues I had were due to me hiking the park and I sweat like an ape anyways - NO goggle stands a chance) If you are a long time rider you will definately appreciate these goggles because you know what sucky ones are like and if you are new to riding GET THESE even if you have to get a crappy color on sale because otherwise you will not enjoy your riding experience. Most other cheeper goggles will just fog up on you when you are going at learner speeds and spending 20 minutes strapping in to your binders and it gets frustrating. Trust me here new riders - form over steez with your goggles - its better to go to backcountryoutlet.com and get a crappy color A Frame for $50-$70 than WASTE money on another pair of cheep goggles. I own Black/Black Iridium (lots of protection for sunny days - wierd hue, but I love the mirror look) Military Khacki/Gold Iridium (perfect all around - no funky snow colors but no sweet mirror effect looking at me like the Black Iridiums have) and Teal/Persimmion (night riding and ok all around if you ride day and night and don't want to buy 3 pairs.) They also fit just fine with my Smith Holt helmet.
Yes it does. All the "iridiums" have a mirrored finnish, but the darker your lens the more straight mirror there is and less eye you can see through them.
The a-frame has always been the main stay of Oakley's line and my day sack. Should be the first goggle to try when finally switching out of those gawd-awful low end cheapies. And shall be benchmark for all following goggle purchases for years to come.
Hard to fog, even easier to vent. Light weight Seemingly one-size fits all. Decent field of vision for the size. A wide selection of snap-in lenses.
The only complaint I would have about these are bad luck. I've destroyed a couple of these bad boys.
Are the lenses interchangeable on the carbon fiber print a frames? I'm trying to change my clear lense to fire and the frame feels to solid to pull the lense out and I don't want to break the frame.
Dogfunk.com knows that no one wants the used-car-salesman experience, so we decided to show you the other guys prices in an effort to keep your shopping experience as informed as possible. We do our best to confirm this information is correct, but assume no responsibility for the accuracy of the price and shipping information provided by other vendors.
No either of the green are mirrored you can get them with the orange lens witch is the most basic lens that Oakley makes and its good for night and low light riding and are less then great for bright days...... the other lens is High Intensity Yellow witch are almost clear and they will actually give more definition in low light and they are terrible for the day because they will still brighten everything....... Hope that helped
the A-frame used to be the pinnacle of snowsport optics, but is now on a level below the Crowbar and Splice. Still, for those with smaller faces, the A-frame represents a great option. They have the same HDO spherical lens technology as all other high-end Oakley goggles, but in a smaller package. Even in comparison to the high-end offerings of other brands, these are small. The frame also lasts FOREVER, as will any non-iridium lenses. a good buy if you have a small face, otherwise jump on the crowbar or the splice.
The A-frame is durable, easy to use, great looking and with superior optics.
I got my first pair back in 98 or so and I still rock them on occasion. I got a couple of more now and they all have hold op amazingly well. The rubber band is still tight and the lenses have withstand travel to the alps, the norther pars of Norway, countless after skis and more.
The only real downside with the A-frame is it's constraints on the peripheral vision. The frame is a bit narrow and has a lot of bulk so when skiing switch or looking over your shoulder you might have problems. When snowboarding it's however never caused mentionable problems for me.
Bottom line: Durable with superior optics. Limits your peripheral vision.
Depends on what kind of low-light. Here is the best link I have come across yet. It will show you all the different lense tints Oakley has to offer. Check it out!
first off i gotta say these goggles are phenomenal. i have a relatively smaller face and these fit perfectly. they are comfortable, decent vision and look very nice. i have a smith holt and it fits nicely with it, and this goggle is a ratherr hard goggle to find a helmet that fits because of its curved bar on the top. and now with tit's incredibly cheap price now is the time to buy these. my goggles, white text/black iridiums are amazing, only one goggle is better and thats the splice (which i loveeee as well. go check out my review for that) this goggle and the splice make an incredible duo. these do not fog UNLESS you get moisture on the inside of the lense and wipe it with your glove >.< which is what i did, but thats not the goggles fault, thats mine. anyways great goggle, great style, great price, buy em. you won't be sorry,
i bought a pair of these with the blue lens and they are the second best goggle i ever had i like the crowbars a little better but still a good pair of goggles
Two questions: 1) What does the D in D-A-Frame True Carbon Fiber/VR28 stand for? 2) What does VR28 mean and are Jet Black/VR28 good for day skiing? I was planning to get replacement clear lenses for night skiing as well. Will replacement lenses fit into these A-frame goggles?
1) i am almost certain the d stands for something to do with the clothing company LxRxG because they were doing a collab goggle with oakley and i think that d-A-frame goggle true carbon fiber/vr 28 is one of the products of this partnership 2)vr28 are great lenses for medium to bright light (so in other words sunny, or a little overcast). they are not good for low light skiing (like cloudy, or at night). yes, they sell A-frame replacement lenses on this site, and the clear ones are 40$ so not a bad deal at all. good luck man, peace
I've had these goggles for a year now and the bottom line is:no fogging issues, luxuriously comfortable, superior optic clarity, and 95% peripheal vision. If you have a small/medium face buy these now!....and thank me later.
best thing you should do is buy a goggle with a iridium lens (fire iridium, blue iridium, pink iridium, black iridium, gold iridium) or a vr50 lens and also buy a clear/hi intensity yellow replacement lens. weather can change and you dont want to be stuck on a sunny day with a clear lens with no replacement. clear lenses are only 40$ too, so its not a big price difference. **also, i dont know if your open to other frames, but the von zipper feenoms are available right not on this site with a free bonus replacement lens, so check that out. probably try it on too in person because the feenom is larger on the face than the a frames. good luck man and have fun in ak.
these haven't changed much in years (if it ain't broke yada yada yada)... and they're still the poster child for high quality, great fitting (they even fit larger faces), stylie goggles... i've moved on from these to the bigger bolder and better peripherally visioned electic EG.2's, but my a-frames are always in my bag just in case... i've gone through a lot of these frames in all different colors with all types of lenses, and can recommend that you go with the upgraded lenses over the stocks (i suggest the G30 as my all time versatile fave, as well as the high intensity yellow for flat light days, and the black iridium for super bluebird days... if you have to go with the cheaper stock lens, opt for the VR50 over the persimmon)... oakley lenses are second to none in terms of clarity, quality, and choice.
I do love Oakley products so when I was unhappy with another brand I got the Oakley A-Frame. I was snowboarding in temps from single digits to 52 degrees & they never let me down!! Great visibility, great style & NO FOGGING!! Awesome goggles!
best for night riding is clear and hi intensity yellow. persimmon is ok, but it tends to turn everything orange and i hate the look of it. if you are going to be doing night skiing a lot, buy the clear. it works the best at night because it simply has no tint. high intensity yellow does brighten things a bit, but for 40$ or so more i would take the clear. good luck man, peace.
I would go with IS Eyewear Strike Frame in the Logo Series. It comes with a silver mirror clear and then a bonus clear lens. Best bang for your buck on here plus you won't have the same goggles as everyone else on the mountain....

These goggles fit perfect even though I have a little bit of a wide face. Great field of vision, the venting works perfect and they haven't fogged on me once! (other than when i eat it hard and snow gets inside or clogs the vents). With dogfunk's sale, i was actually able to get two pairs (one with a black iridium lens for sunny days and one with a high intensity yellow lens for stormy days) for less than the price of the additional storm lens by itself at oakley.com
yea these should work for you, but of course you would want to try em on in person. if you arent sure, i would go with the splice, which is for medium faces, but really fits everything. good luck, peace
these should fit fine, these are smaller then some of the newer goggles like electrics egs1 and they look pretty sick. i have a pretty narrow face and they look great.
i have a smith holt and it fits nicely with these goggles. i heard these goggles fit great with the red hifi though. i would try em on in a store though on a helmet though, to get the fit your looking for. good luck, peace
No fogging! Super comfy! I almost hope for overcast weather or night time conditions because I love to use these. A+ Indeed. It's not bad getting compliments on your gear either!
in response to dude asking about s4 goggles, i have heard of them this season, but i've never used them. from what i hear though, they are really customizable, and they look pretty sweet. theres a lifetime guarantee so i guess you couldnt go wrong with them. i still like the a frames.i used these goggles for 5 or six years and they are to this day some of my favorite goggles. never had problems with them, never fog, no scratches and they look so simple and clean. everyone should have a pair of a frames in their closet.
Well, these are as durable as any. Ones with removable len's I found aren't faceplant friendly. I've had the lens come out and cut my eye open on a wicked faceplant, I was wearing some Spy's though.. Mind over matter brother, don't think negatively. Peace.
I've been wearing the same pair of these since I started riding in 2000 and I've never had a single problem with them. They have fogged on my maybe 3 times since then and that was in the absolute worst conditions (there were very few of us on the mountain it was that bad). They aren't bulky at all, super comfy (and I've tried on so many goggles over the past 10 years just trying to see if anyone comes close, none do) great venting, and durable (10 years is a pretty good run for a set of goggles i think).
These goggles are great. Your going to spend a little more money but the perpherial vision and clarity are awesome. Well worth it if your a person who wears goggles.
I'm a fan of the Oakley A frame 'cause of their multitude of different lens but I'm continuing my search for that elusive perfect fit. My problem results from having a long nose with a wide bridge. That means the A frames ride high up on my face as they can't slide down far enough on my nose. If I push them down to where they belong, I can't breathe well. Other than that, they're perfect.
Anyone know any snow goggle that would work well for a medium size head with a long nose and wide bridge? I tried the wisdoms but they were simply too big for me.
try the oakley splice. the new design has a wider nose bridge and also doest fit too large. i have a pair and i love em. great periphs and soooo comfy. they are a little more expensive but trust me they are worth it. good luck, peace.
If there is one thing you shouldn't look at the price it's jacket, pants and GOGGLES. A-Frame will never bring you down. perfect ventilation and great field of view
I got the Oakleys with the fire lens, and in low light situations that lens sucks. So be careful if you go snowboarding often in low light situations like me the fire lens looks cool but you can't see in flat light!
I'm filipino so the bridge of my nose is low. It's especially difficult to find goggles that will fit that and these goggles did the trick! I know these goggles come in an "asian fit" but opted for just the regular and they are awesome. this is my first season snowboarding and so they never let me down with all the falling forwards and backwards. the peripheral vision in these goggles are great, especially if you're a a newbie boarder.
these are amazing i have the jet b lack with fire and nothing is better to stop those annoying rays reflecting in your eyes and they even add to your perifrial vision to help recognize your surroundings!
I really like these goggles. They look sick and are really comfortable. They do fog, but not unless you're really sweating a ton (like sometimes in the spring). The lens color is good (I think I got the prissimon something). They fit real good with the RED HI FI helmet... no gap between the helmet and the goggles. Anyway, overall, comfortable, sexy, great for the price. Get em!
Oakley has great lenses for both their goggles and sunglasses, and the A Frame is a nice, basic option. It fits small to medium faces well enough and is a good fit with a helmet.
These pretty much deliver everything you could possibly want in a goggle, theyre straight up impossible to fog up, super comfortable, stylin, and depending which lens you have (I got the grey Iridium) theyre super HD. Buy em!
i do emergency services work for the state from time to time and these are the same goggles designed for that purpose. they meet all the safety specifications for impact resistance and other standards. there are many color options for fan-boys and hipsters to get your steez on, and many lens options for any riding conditions. i've never had the inner lens fog up. they are comfortable with or without a helmet
this goggles were pretty good more those who usually loves to wear goggles and i think if they buy this one, they will like it, it is the product of Oakley and it give high quality.
Why are you comparing these to goggles that you dont even know exist. I think if they dont exist on Dogfunk.com - they dont exist period. I wouldnt shop anywhere else bro, because if you get these and dont like them you can always send them right back. Dont chance $100+ getting goggles that may or may not exist.

Yes it does. All the "iridiums" have a mirrored finnish, but the darker your lens the more straight mirror there is and less eye you can see through them.
