Oakley A-Frame Goggle Replacement Lens

Oakley Iridium and High Intensity A Frame Goggle Replacement Lenses improve your vision in low light and extra bright conditions. So you're the kind of skier or snowboarder who doesn't quit riding when the conditions get nasty? And when it's sunny you're going too fast to wear sunglasses without your eyes watering, right? That's why Oakley developed high-performance replacement lenses for their A Frame Goggles. When the snow is dumping and everyone else heads for the lodge complaining about the bad visibility, throw in a pair of High Intensity Lenses to bring out what light is available. You'll see contrasts better and get more fresh tracks. Available in High Intensity Blue or High Intensity Persimmon. On bright, sunny bluebird days use the Iridium Lenses to cut glare without worrying about your eyes watering like your sunglass wearing friends.

Bottom Line: Modify your vision.

Fire for day, HI Yellow for night

By:
January 4, 2011

H.I. Yellow lens are awesome for night boarding. i switch from the day-time fire iridiums to HI yellow at night; swapping is easy, too. a-frames are money.

Unfortunately we don't carry any of Oakley's Asian Fit lenses. Don't fret though, hit up Oakley directly, and they should be able to get you dialed!

Use Caution when cleaning the fog/moisture!

By:
October 10, 2008

I've been rockin A frames for the last 8 years. Easy to change out. If They get wet inside or Fog, only use the Oakley micro bag to blot them dry. If you use anything else, or if you wipe the inner lens rather than blot when wet you will have a permanently damaged lens. (the inner coating of the goggles will smear leaving them to be no better than a smeared window forever). My $70 mistake. :( No Bueno. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!!

I too can attest. Thankfully my scratches are out of my line of vision so i haven't replaced the lens yet.

That is very true because I didn't know that and I ruined my crowbar's blue iridium lense and I had to spend $70 to get a new one.

this season i was ridin up at PC ridin and the inside of both lenses foged horribly ! thinking it would help i tried to dry them out but it didnt help at all .... now there is huge smears all across the inside lense of my A frames and sucks to see out of. i was wondering if there is anything i could do to get rid of some of the smearing ? i dont really want to sink alot more money in these babys

Remove the inner lense till you can buy another replacement lense.

It sounds like you might have rubbed off the anti-fog coating on the inside of the lens. You never want to wipe out the inside of your lens if they get wet, all you can do is let them dry out. Sounds like you're just going to have to get a new lens, sorry.

fire iridium & high intensity yellow

By:
November 27, 2007

Fire Iridium: Awesome for bright sunny, cloudless days. The lens is almost progressive towards outer parts and it really really helps. NO glare. H.I. Yellow: When it dumps or when the sun is setting, these are a MUST. I always switch to these and they are never fail. WAY INCREASED contrast so you can see the detail in the snow.

Yeah they have two layer's of lenses so they are super fog resistant. Just some words of advice. Be careful with the lenses because they scratch very easily especially the inside. And don't use anything besides the goggle bag to wipe them off. Also, don't wipe the inside lens when its wet.

Black Iridium = the sweetness

By:
September 13, 2006

In California, there's a mixture of great bluebird days and dumping, stormy days. I used to hate wearing goggles, but after I got my A-Frames I realized I hated them because my goggles sucked. I used them, and Black Iridium lenses for most of last season. For the days that are mostly sunny with a bit of clouds, I use Black Iridium lenses. I like them because they don't TOTALLY distort the color of everything around you like some other lenses. They're crystal clear, too. The only downside... they scratch really easily (and for the most part, I try to take care of my gear). I am definitely going to get some H.I. yellows this coming season.

They are both good for night riding. I have the clear and they work great. I don't have the H.I. Yellow but I've been told that they filter out light somehow so its easier to see jumps ect. Either one is fair game.

Would HI Yellow or HI Persimmon be better for flat light conditions?

Would HI Yellow or HI Persimmon be better for flat light conditions? From Oakley's website it looks like the Persimmon has a little more tint and would be a better all around lense, while the Yellow would be more for just low/flat light.

you can look it up on google, but for the a frames you.
-start at the very top by the O
-pull the top away from the lense (bending it)
-it should seperate and do that all the way down on both sides
-lastly you do the nose
and do that in the reverse order to put a lense in (start with the nose)

I am looking for a replacement lens that is good for both cloudy/lowlight

I am looking for a replacement lens that is good for both cloudy/lowlight days where its hard to see the imperfections in the snow, as well as night time riding.
What is the best, or most versatile lens to cover my needs?

Pink iridium. One of the best overall lenses from Oakley in my opinion. Not so good for bright conditions, but for low light or cloudy these excel. Better than H.I yellow for bright conditions, but much better than almost any other iridium for low-light/cloudy days.

Hi Yellows are awesome for low light and at night, clears are great for night riding as well. Yellows make everything pop out at you, showing crisp shadows and imperfections in the snow. Clears are well, clear.

Persimmon is OK in low light ie dusk, but not great, so I can't imagine they would be good at night. Never rode at night myself, but thinking bout going clear or yellow for those setting sun last lift afternoon runs.
