Description

Living proof that goggles can evolve.

Feeling pressured? Could be your goggles. The Oakley Splice combines patented, distortion-free XYZ Optics with a pressure-eliminating frame design to help you breathe, see, and perform better than ever. Until now, most goggles have relied on the classic 'raccoon-eyes' frame shape that accommodates a range of face and nose shapes, but that can create unwanted pressure on the nose bridge, restricting breathing and causing discomfort. To eliminate this, Oakley's team of learning computers designed a frame that arches completely over the nose, using your cheekbones for support and filling the gap with super-soft triple-density face foam. The result, in short, is a super-comfortable goggle that maintains all the amazing range of vision and clarity you expect from Oakley. But don't believe the hype; try them and find out for yourself.
  • Flexible O-Matter frame remains pliable in any temperature
  • F3 Anti-fog coating eliminates the steam-room cloud
  • Outrigger strap mounts distribute strap pressure evenly to the face with or without a helmet
  • New for 2010/11: integrated attachment points for Oakley Splice Bandito removable face mask

This is a good pair of goggles for the price. These have good peripheral vision and are durable. The Lens switching system is a bit of a pain, but it is fairly simple. If you are willing to spend a couple more dollars, than the Smith I/OX or the Oakley Airbrake are a much better buy as they come with a second lens. Both the Airbrake and I/OX have a much easier lens swapping system too.

Great goggle, as expected, lens tint is as expected for blue bird days, used in more overcast and it was ok once you adjust but was tough for the back end of a bluebird day, couldnt see any contrast in the shade. Looks great, never fogs.

I had a pair of crowbars, they were sick but they pinched my nose a little bit. Picked me up a pair of these splices and now I can breath out of my nose. Oh ya they look super rad too, buy em.

These goggles are beyond amazing. Crystal clear, super comfy, little to no distortion. Plus the never fog and come in some sick color ways. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

how are these with a helmet?

depends on the helmet. I use the poc receptor bug, and there is very little gap. Also depends on the size of your mellon.

Ive been buying Oakley goggles almost every season because their style, quality and comfort. Best thing I like about these Oakley Splices is the new nose design - its a little wider around the nose so it doesn't pinch you nose making you sound like you have a cold or something. Definitely recommend these goggles to who ever is viewing these reviews!

Love my splice goggles. Have yet to experience any fogging. Also fit a wide variety of face sizes. Would really suggest doing your homework on lenses. Buy appropriate lenses for what you normally ride in and not just because its paired up with the design you like. Oakley does a great Job on their site showcasing the lenses and preferred riding environment. You could also ask the live help, they definitely provided some great insight for me.

I currently own a pair of these and they're quite awesome. Problem is, i only have a fire iridium lens, and i do a lot of night skiing. Should i get the H.I. yellow or persimmon lens for a good combo?

I haven't used them on the slopes yet but they fit great and are very comfortable. Oakley makes a great lens and the color/style is awesome. I have a big head and they seem to fit just fine.

I have a smaller head and face area.. will these goggles still fit comfortably? I had a pair of crowbars that fit great.

These have a similar shape to the crowbars so you should be just peachy.

Yeah, these are the exact same fit as Oakley Crowbars, just a wider nose piece.

how well do the persimmon lense do in low light- night riding?

Hey anthony savasta,

Thanks for asking. With the Oakley Splice Goggle, the Persimmon lens would be decent in low light riding, but may not do as well for night riding if the lighting is minimal. But, in the case of what comes with the goggle, it would be your best go for both as the Hi-Yellow would be another option for better night riding but would let in too much in any sort of light other than super low.
