Worth the money

I've used this product a couple of times so far this season. Super functional! Totally breathable! Both times in bluebird conditions and it worked great. I don't know how well it will function in cold weather. You can't go wrong for the price.

Amazing

By:
December 24, 2012

This thing is awesome! I haven't gone boarding with it yet, but i will tomorrow, so that's exciting. I have, however, gone biking with it in super cold temps and it held up really well. I love this thing. Looks awesome too!

**Post use edit

I've now used this a bunch of days on the hill and it rocks. It stays on my face and never falls down. I can breathe with it on, and it has never frozen up on me, and I took it to Killington for 3 days and the temps were below 0 one day. The Yowie is amazing

More than I expected

By:
January 26, 2012

So I got like 6 of these as Christmas stocking stuffers. They were a huge hit with the family. I did not even realize there are 6 different uses for it until they all started reading the packaging. So, don't forget to experiment with it as a beanie, headband, hair tie, and more; don't just trash the packaging like me.

Everything you want from a mask!

By:
November 8, 2011

Love this mask! Mad steeze, comfort, and warmth. Won't itch your face like a wool mask, and so breathable, and lets not forget how it stays dry. I will never go back to a mask that will just hold moisture around my nose and mouth. So many different colors I'm getting them as gifts for everyone I love.

gets the job done

By:
January 28, 2012

I bought 2 yowies simply because they're a great thing to have for the price. They work well for keeping your face and neck protected on the lifts, but they can get a little moist from breathing into it.

Since it is a tube I just turn it so the back of the neck is now the front and the front can dry from the heat of the back of the neck..

big fan!!!

By:
April 7, 2012

I bought the tie-dye Law, the Code Breaker, and the Solid Black, and I'm impressed with the functionality of the product. I've only used it as a face mask with a beanie under my helmet with zero complaints. The material is really thin so it allows you to breath easily and saves your face from playing "freeze out" with the rest of your body.

Yowie!

By:
February 5, 2012

The yowie is the most badass piece of gear you'll wear, guarenteed. It's so versatile and everyone thinks they're only for the winter, but you can wear them year round as a facemask, hat, and so many other things. With tons of different colors, the yowie is a must have and the price is right.

Girlie Yowie

By:
December 9, 2011

This little invention is pretty nifty up on the slopes at Cypress, West Vancouver, BC Canada! Provides a nice layer between your skin and the wind and cold; the only drawback is that your breath makes it moist on the inside so maybe go for the arctic version for boarding/skiing in really cold places. Otherwise this looks pretty badass on the slopes! (Also grab one for Burning Man dust storms, you won't regret it!)

Awesome!

By:
January 14, 2013

I bought one for my self and my boyfriend. We live in colorado and it get very cold out here. It dry's very fast and is very comfortable to wear. The only issue I have with mine is getting used to having fabric in your mouth when trying to talk. It does create and lock in moisture too which is another thing to get used too. Other than that I totally recommend this product!!

These yowies kick some 4$$! They are lighter weight than say turtlefur and the likes, which is great for me since I'm always hot. Also, they breathe damn well.

OT Yowies

By:
August 23, 2011

These babies are awesome. The Artic Yowie keeps your face warm and dry in subzero temps and the Yowie is super versatile, works in all weather and seasonal conditions protecting your face. You can use the Yowie for anything, even as a pillow, headband or tubetop!

Rider Tested, rider aproved

By:
August 30, 2012

I am a sponsored rider for OT so i got a free yowie from them and immediately i feel in love with it. Regardless if
I have to pay for another one i am going to get a couple more just so i have a couple for when they start to get frozen from my breath on the slopes. SOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier than fiddling around with a bandanna and they look 10x cooler.

cool colors, lousy construction

By:
October 23, 2012

This is a pretty useful item. I wear it while biking in the cold and I can pull it up over my head, with just my face showing and turn it into a balacava type thing. It is very light material, but it is enough for your neck and ears and lets you breath. I find when I am exercising, I just need a little something and this fits the bill. The construction leaves something to be desired. The ends of the material are left just unfinished with no hemming. I can imagine they will frey with time and this is just being too pennypinching by the manufacturer. But the designs are so cool!

I've had a few Yowies for a while now (3+ years) and none of them are fraying. The lack of a sewn edge actually makes them very comfortable under goggles or a helmet. Just sayin'.

Yowie

By:
August 27, 2011

Wearing the Outdoor Technology Yowie has become a must when I ride the past couple of seasons. Taking out the ear pads in my helmet and replacing them with wearing the Yowie around my head has been more more comfortable and less hot. Also using the Yowie as a facemask is easier the keep stable than a bandana and much cooler than anything fleece made. While riding in the trees my Yowie is always up over my face as a safety device just in case I find myself upside in a tree well and need to keep my airway clear. The Yowie is a must.

Yowie yeah baby!!

By:
February 24, 2012

I hate hate hate it when you're trying to keep your face warm and your scarf or whatever starts icing up and you have to keep moving it around to keep a dry part of the material on your face. The Yowie seems so thin when you first get it and Yes, this facemask gets moist, I mean how could it not? BUT its sooooo warm and you can't feel the moisture until its been on your face for literally hours OR when you take it off completely for a few minutes then put it back on you can feel it a little. It`s definitely not near as bad as a scarf or a fleece facemask. Gonna stock up on these.

By:
February 6, 2012

Love this thing, worked great, gets a little damn if your lips aren't dry but it wasn't anymore of a deal than any other facemask I've used. My only issue is it slides down a lot.

pretty good

By:
January 2, 2012

pretty good for days where the sun is out and its above 25 degrees. kinda sucks if its snowing and cold because it will absorb the moisture and freeze. but no matter what temp or weather it is outside this mask is perfect to keep your neck warm. if you go a day without it your neck will freeze.

Costing less than a trip to Arby's, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't have one. Stylish, versatile, warm, breathable, and comfortable - when was the last time you could say the same about those five beef 'n cheddars? Didn't think so.

Great product, recommend not using it on the snowy days because it will get wet real quick. Breathing out of your mouth will make these saturated and will freeze. Used it mostly as a neck gaiter and worked great.
