Description

Most chicks don’t dig sad, shivering dudes, either.

Hans and Franz both agree that you should pack the Patagonia Men’s Fjord Flannel Long-Sleeve Shirt into your carryon. Its fricking cold were you’re heading and if you want to keep those nips toasty, this heavyweight flannel shirt ensures you stay comfy. Not to mention, it also doubles as a light jacket on bluebird spring days in the mountains.

Great look & weight, just slightly large

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love the soft/thick weight of this flannel, but it fits slightly large like a lot of Patagonia shirts do. I'm 6'4'' 225 and an XL in most shirt brands, but I'm probably more of a L in Patagonia shirts. Since this shirt is cotton, I was able to shrink it down to a reasonable fit, but I probably should have ordered a Large.

My favorite flannel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm 6'5" and so it tends to be tough to find a flannel that fits in the sleeves and isn't made for someone three times my weight. This flannel fits perfectly, and I have to force myself to stop wearing it all the time so that it gets washed. Fabric is incredibly soft and I really like the Chambray/Nickel color

Favorite Shirt

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I gave this shirt to my boyfriend for Christmas and he immediately loved it. He wore it everyday for the next few days and had to stop himself because he was afraid people would notice that he hadn't changed his clothes. It is super soft and well-made, fits well on his XXL frame. It is a bit pricy but totally worth it. You will not be disappointed by this product!!

Like a soft blanket!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love this shirt so much I had to get another. Very soft, comfortable and warm. Worth the price, but maybe you'll be lucky like me and find it on sale. 5'8" and a buck fortyish and a medium fits great.

The Perfect Flannel

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm 5'11'' 155 Lbs and I wear a size medium. This is an extremely well made shirt that has a great fit. It's too thick for the summer time but perfect for fall/winter.

Warmth. Perfection.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

There isn't much wrong with this shirt. It's super soft, super warm, fits well, and has great colors. Patagonia is more expensive for sure, but I feel like I'll have this shirt for the next 20 years.

Perfect Flannel

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is an awesomely soft, thick, and warm flannel shirt! Feels very well made (per usual for patagonia) and fits very well. The fit is very similar to other patagonia products as well. Im 6'1" and went with the large. Bought the red/navy blue color and it is very true to the photo above. I highly recomend this shirt, I probaby wont take mine off until the snow melts (which hopefully will never happen).

Thick and Soft

It is what a flannel should be: thick, soft and super warm.
In the past I've been kind of used to Patagonia fitting a little short and wider, so being tall and slim it's a little harder to find that perfect fit.
This one fit a little longer and slimmer than I was expecting out of their "relaxed" fit. Which was perfect.
I am 6'2" 175 and the Large fits well.

Another great Patagonia product

Every Patagonia product I own would get 4 or 5 stars. This shirt is no different. Well made and warm.

Well Built

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a well constructed, thick flannel shirt. The size is true to form. I am a good size guy at 6'0 and 200 pounds and I bought a large and it fits just right. very warm and very happy with this purchase.

Flannel fit for a viking

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually wear this flannel on quite chilly days, I wouldn't recommend this bad boy if the temp is going to get near 45-50F, especially if the sun is out or if you are doing any kind of hiking or backpacking because this thing will have you on the brink of sweating all day. Other than that definitely my favorite winter shirt by far, so long as the temperature cooperates.

Best Flannel I Own

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Anohter outstanding Patagonia product. It's soft, comfortable, war, all you could ask for. I use this on cool nights camping especially here in Minnesota where even in the middle of summer it can drop to be pretty cold at night. Like someone said earlier though the newer ones are cut a bit slimmer than they used to be so just be aware when ordering that your old size might not work anymore.

size issues

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've worn two of these shirts for years; they are my favorite winter shirts and still look like new after a gazillion washings. I ordered a new one this year and it was too tight! I laid it over an old one and there was a full inch less fabric on each side. I wound up giving it to a skinny friend.

I was supposed to get this shirt for Christmas, but my wife decided to give it to me for Thanksgiving weekend at our family cabin. Ever since then I have a hard time not wearing it.

The shirt is cozy no matter what type of Fall / Winter you experience. Like any Patagonia clothing it is built with quality in mind and it feels like it will last a long time.

Here is to a long relationship with one of the best flannels I have ever owned.

comfortable, durable, functional, great length and no obnoxious branding. at 6'5" and 220# the fit of an xl is just about perfect. my only complaint is the sleeves could be a bit longer, but so goes the story with every other shirt out there when you're tall. i was looking for an alternative to an insulated flannel, also by patagonia, that is now about 8 years old and after a full month of use i'd expect this shirt to have a long life as well

For a while maybe 18 months ago you couldn't find this shirt anywhere. Hands down my favorite flannel on the market, worth the price tag. Summer nights at the campfire, or apres ski beers- year round you will live in it and love it. That's why you need more than one. I'm 6'5", 36-37" sleeve, 41 chest, and i wear a Large. The sleeves are long enough, or maybe I'm used to all sleeves being short. It works. The cut on the shirt is relaxed but not bulky. I bought a Woolrich flannel when I couldn't find this Fjord flannel anywhere, it had so much extra body I didn't even return it, just gave it to the Salvation Army. So many styles to choose from, you don't need to look like you were chopping wood all afternoon unless you want to.

Best Flannel I Own

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As expected with anything from patagonia, the quality of the flannel is top notch. Its very warm and soft, but doesnt feel to bulky. Its also just an overall great looking shirt. I dont think you can go wrong but I went with the spanish moss and am very happy.

Perfect for fall

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What a soft, warm flannel -- perfect for crisp fall days. I'll buy another if ever on sale.

Although it's a substantial shirt, it might be a bit of an exaggeration to call it "heavyweight." My small weighs less than 14.5oz, and, for example, the Alaskan Guide flannel by Filson is much beefier. Nevertheless it's 60F in my house right now and I'm cozy sitting with the Fjord over a t-shirt. With that outfit I'm also comfortable walking around town at 50F.

The Zappos picture of the Deitrich: Classic Navy is more color-realistic than the pictures on the Backcountry or Patagonia websites.

I'm 6'0" and 155lbs and a small is a perfect fit for wearing un-tucked. The fit is still not trim, so if you're uncertain I recommend sizing down.

There are only two Patagonia labels on this shirt and the buttons are plain. The collar tag is easy to remove after clipping its stitching, and the side tag can be cut close.

This might be the best shirt ever. Super warm, super soft and comfortable, and feels like it's going to last forever. Pretty much live in it all winter.
(runs a little big, so if you're in between sizes, size down)
