Description

Most chicks don’t dig sad, shivering dudes, either.

Hans and Franz both agree that you should pack the Patagonia Men’s Fjord Flannel Long-Sleeve Shirt into your carryon. Its fricking cold were you’re heading and if you want to keep those nips toasty, this heavyweight flannel shirt ensures you stay comfy. Not to mention, it also doubles as a light jacket on bluebird spring days in the mountains.

Nice...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Great shirt. Less 'heavy' than the older Patagonia shirt/light jacket shirts. These I am actually able to tuck into the pants. Might not be the current fashion, but I am old school. Very comfortable and feels like a shirt I have owned for years!

Fjord (Fee-Yord)

Now that you know how to pronounce the name correctly, your stoke level will be off the charts. This flannel is All -Time. Heavy duty cotton provides next to skin comfort and warmth. The Patagonia name provides assurances that your hard earned Beer money you just wasted went to good use. Fits true to size, especially since you skipped those beers. 5 stars.

Very Awesome Flannel!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my first Patagonia Flannel, and I am super happy with it! I have had it about 3 weeks now, and have worn it about half the days since... My wife was even telling me this morning about me wearing it so much...

The flannel is very soft next to skin, and warm. For temps in the mid 50's it works great for me with just a t underneath it. For temps around 50 or lower, a thermal undershirt really increases it's warmth. (In fact, I am wearing it tonight to our Christmas Parade with a thermal beneath it.)

The fit is what I expected. I am 5'10" and 175 lbs, about a 42" chest, and the large fits me a little baggy. After washing and drying the first time, it did shrink up a little bit, but not enough to really make much of a difference, however, since then I have let it air dry, just to be sure. I could fit in a size medium though, however, it would be a bit more form fitting, and while that is fine, to me, a flannel should be a little loose...

Anyway, I love this flannel, and will be getting more....

The Perfect Winter Shirt!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love this shirt so much, I own 3! Any outdoor adventures during cool weather, and its a good bet a Fjord is on my back. It is very comfortable and just enough insulation to not have to wear a jacket on cool days and works great with a jacket on the cold ones. Its a great shirt to use as a mid-layer for skiing or to throw on when you are coming out of a drysuit for those cold river days. Plus all the patterns look very nice so its super hard to just buy one! The arms do shrink a bit in the dryer, so all mine get air dried now. Fit is pretty true. I wear a L in most other things and the L works just right.

Second Fjord Flannel for me!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love the Patagonia Fjord flannel. Fits true to size and is always my go to in cold weather. Had to get a second one as I was wearing the first one too much!
The shirts look nice with anything and are a winter savior!

Great look & weight, just slightly large

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I love the soft/thick weight of this flannel, but it fits slightly large like a lot of Patagonia shirts do. I'm 6'4'' 225 and an XL in most shirt brands, but I'm probably more of a L in Patagonia shirts. Since this shirt is cotton, I was able to shrink it down to a reasonable fit, but I probably should have ordered a Large.

Responded on

This is some good advice! I too am generally between a Large and XL with shirts in general, and definitely need to go Large for Patagonia shirts.

My favorite flannel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I'm 6'5" and so it tends to be tough to find a flannel that fits in the sleeves and isn't made for someone three times my weight. This flannel fits perfectly, and I have to force myself to stop wearing it all the time so that it gets washed. Fabric is incredibly soft and I really like the Chambray/Nickel color

Favorite Shirt

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
  • Fit: True to size

I gave this shirt to my boyfriend for Christmas and he immediately loved it. He wore it everyday for the next few days and had to stop himself because he was afraid people would notice that he hadn't changed his clothes. It is super soft and well-made, fits well on his XXL frame. It is a bit pricy but totally worth it. You will not be disappointed by this product!!

Like a soft blanket!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Love this shirt so much I had to get another. Very soft, comfortable and warm. Worth the price, but maybe you'll be lucky like me and find it on sale. 5'8" and a buck fortyish and a medium fits great.

The Perfect Flannel

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I'm 5'11'' 155 Lbs and I wear a size medium. This is an extremely well made shirt that has a great fit. It's too thick for the summer time but perfect for fall/winter.

Warmth. Perfection.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

There isn't much wrong with this shirt. It's super soft, super warm, fits well, and has great colors. Patagonia is more expensive for sure, but I feel like I'll have this shirt for the next 20 years.

Perfect Flannel

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

This is an awesomely soft, thick, and warm flannel shirt! Feels very well made (per usual for patagonia) and fits very well. The fit is very similar to other patagonia products as well. Im 6'1" and went with the large. Bought the red/navy blue color and it is very true to the photo above. I highly recomend this shirt, I probaby wont take mine off until the snow melts (which hopefully will never happen).

Thick and Soft

It is what a flannel should be: thick, soft and super warm.
In the past I've been kind of used to Patagonia fitting a little short and wider, so being tall and slim it's a little harder to find that perfect fit.
This one fit a little longer and slimmer than I was expecting out of their "relaxed" fit. Which was perfect.
I am 6'2" 175 and the Large fits well.

Another great Patagonia product

Every Patagonia product I own would get 4 or 5 stars. This shirt is no different. Well made and warm.

Well Built

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is a well constructed, thick flannel shirt. The size is true to form. I am a good size guy at 6'0 and 200 pounds and I bought a large and it fits just right. very warm and very happy with this purchase.

Flannel fit for a viking

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually wear this flannel on quite chilly days, I wouldn't recommend this bad boy if the temp is going to get near 45-50F, especially if the sun is out or if you are doing any kind of hiking or backpacking because this thing will have you on the brink of sweating all day. Other than that definitely my favorite winter shirt by far, so long as the temperature cooperates.

Best Flannel I Own

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Anohter outstanding Patagonia product. It's soft, comfortable, war, all you could ask for. I use this on cool nights camping especially here in Minnesota where even in the middle of summer it can drop to be pretty cold at night. Like someone said earlier though the newer ones are cut a bit slimmer than they used to be so just be aware when ordering that your old size might not work anymore.

size issues

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've worn two of these shirts for years; they are my favorite winter shirts and still look like new after a gazillion washings. I ordered a new one this year and it was too tight! I laid it over an old one and there was a full inch less fabric on each side. I wound up giving it to a skinny friend.

Best thing since sliced bread

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was supposed to get this shirt for Christmas, but my wife decided to give it to me for Thanksgiving weekend at our family cabin. Ever since then I have a hard time not wearing it.

The shirt is cozy no matter what type of Fall / Winter you experience. Like any Patagonia clothing it is built with quality in mind and it feels like it will last a long time.

Here is to a long relationship with one of the best flannels I have ever owned.
