On a 'real' human.
This is what the size XS looks like on 5'3" 120 lbs.
(Note: it's more of a dress, not a vest).
RUNS BIG * QC ISSUE * HAPPY ENDING
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This product definitely runs big. I am 5'3" and 120 lbs and grabbed the size small, which I was SWIMMING in. I typically take Small for most brands (Patagonia, Arc'teryx, North Face etc..) You definitely want to size down on this one.
I was also a bit disappointed upon receiving this product. I had really high expectations and was incredibly excited because I've actually visited the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Oregon. Having viewed their factory and watched them spin the wool, I was so excited to be supporting an American made product.
Well - how quaint, because this product is sewn together in El Salvador. I was SHOCKED to find a large number of threads that required removing, the vest clearly required some finish work that was neglected. It wasn't a huge deal, the threads were easily removed, but I would expect better quality from such an expensive piece. I was also pretty unimpressed by the pockets. When looking at them from the inside of the jacket, the serged seams are crooked and and the quality is just not there. I could have done a better job, and I am NOT a seamstress. Are they employing small children over there in El Salvador!? Makes you wonder...
COME ON PENDLETON - GET. IT. TOGETHER.
I am now waiting on my size XS, but am considering returning this smaller size as well if the quality is what I experienced with the first size small.
I just had such divine fantasies about this vest...now I'm not so sure.
The rest of the jacket is beautiful, the fabric is wonderful (I'm assuming that was manufactured in Oregon). You may just have to ensure that there are no loose threads before hitting the town in this piece.
Otherwise, It's really unique and beautiful. I'll see if it's for keeps...
I would note that on a smaller person such as myself - this is not a vest.
It's a dress/tunic! That model in the picture must have legs for days, because this piece is quite a bit longer on me.
