Description

Roots.

Look familiar? This is the original skate-style Pro-tec snow certified helmet. the Classic Snow Helmet doesn't have a bunch of fancy bells and whistles because it doesn't need them. Good looks and multiple-impact protection is enough.

  • High-density, injection-molded ABS shell with EPS multiple-impact liner aloows you to just run around smackin’ head willy-nilly
  • Removable, washable interior pads so your stink doesn’t walk into the room before you do
  • 11 screened vents keep air flowing inside the helmet to keep your head cool

i have a medium giro encore2 and it says up to 59cm head and it fits a little snug, but when i measure my head it is 58cm, i would hate to get a helmet that is even a little to big, would the protec in L work?

What is the fit like on this helmet?...

What is the fit like on this helmet? According to the sizing chart, I should wear a L. However, I will probably wear a beanie underneath, and therefore I was thinking XL. That is, unless, this helmet is known for being a larger fit...

Also, I have Electric EG2 goggles. Any experience on whether the helmet fits well with these goggles?

Thanks!

Hey Peter,
I wear a beanie under my helmet when I ski and have found that as long as you are not right at the top of the sizing chart then the beanie should fit under the helmet fine. I would recommend measuring your head with the beanie on to see how that measures. If it is in the sizing of the large then it will fit well, if you measure into the xl then I would go with that. I removed the pads on my helmet to make room for the beanie which works well for me as I tend to overheat with the pads in. As for the fit with the EG2, they will fit well with this helmet. You will have the sick fighter pilot look with those large goggles and this sleek helmet.

Sweet helmet, fits nice on my head, protects it, and the removable lining really helps

Best helmet, looks real steezy on the hill and super functional, especially with headphones dropped into the earpads. Great value for money!

There is nothing fancy about this helmet. The product description even says that this thing lacks bells and whistles.

It isn't heavy. It's not light, either, but I've never regretted bringing it along. It's not very comfortable, either. At least not for me. Definitely not warm. Luckily you can kill two birds with one stone by ordering the next size up and wearing a beanie underneath. There you go - comfort and warmth.

I'm in the market for a new helmet, and I considered buying Pro-Tec helmet number two. I'm looking elsewhere, but maybe I'm just getting older and wanting a fancier helmet.
