Keystone, Mile High Wake Park, lurking your local lake, Arvada Skate Park
Beth - This suit has just about the absolute stretchiest neoprene on the market so it fits amazingly well. The size ranges on the size chart are pretty narrow, so I would suggest adding an inch or so on either side of the height, and about 10 lbs on either side of the weight range to get an idea of the overlap in sizing. Unfortunately no hood on the Psycho 2, but the return policy at Dogfunk.com is amazing! Check out the link at the bottom of the page...
XXXDS! Streeeetchy... and Warm! Woop woop!
Willy Wonka's factory for anyone who wants to play in cold water.
Bang for your buck! All the features of the Men's and Women's versions but not all the price!
Kevin - the Epic 3/2 is recommended for lower 60's to high 70 degree water temps.
95% Recycled! Each RG8 3/2 wetsuit purchased saves 100 plastic bottles from ever having a chance to pollute our waters. High fives for that tree-hugger in all of us!
"The Psycho III builds on and heavily improves on the ever popular and long lasting Pyscho II. For O’Neill to retire one of their best selling wetsuits for something new, it better measure up! The Psycho III doesn’t just measure up, it exceeds expectations." - S2AS News
"TechnoButter is not dance music created by dairy enthusiasts, it's a really impressive neoprene" - Surfer's Village Wetsuit Review 9-21-12
This suit lives up to the name and then some. The Heat is stuffed with all new high-end features and materials: Now built with 100% ultra gooey UltraFlex DS Neoprene. It also features an UltraFlex Firewall in the chest and back that make this suit noticeably warmer and more flexible than previous years models. The Heat also includes exterior Fluid Seam Welds, a redesigned zipper panel, a Covert Code Red Zipper, stealth looks to catch those waves by surprise, and easy-in-easy-out usability. First in last out!
O'Neill's newest and worldwide EXCLUSIVE neoprene. 3 mm Techno Butter body is 17% lighter weight when dry, absorbs 30% less water, and has mad-science derived quick dry properties incorporated right into the material. They added some tried and true smoothie where you lose the most of your core body temp too. FIrst in. Last out. Your buddies will be jealous.
Most 7 1/4 hat sizes are approximately 22.75"-23" measured around the forehead. Based on that I would probably recommend a Medium to large (L if a 7 1/4 fits really snug!). Also if it helps, the neck sizes listed on the O'Neill Wetsuit Hood size chart are as follows:
XS = 14.5" neck
S = 14.75" neck
M = 15" neck
L = 15.5 " neck
XL = 16" neck
2XL = 16.5" neck
Hey Bob - the suit is actually not made entirely from scrap neoprene off the factory floor. O'Neill works continuously with their factories and a handful of outside partners to find ways to recycle and repurpose neoprene at the end of the wetsuit life cycle. They are inventing ways to refine scrap neoprene and re-intorduce it into other materials to build a variety of components and products typically only made with first gen neoprene. Think recycled plastic outer and inner layer on 100% legit, uber-high-end, buttery-moving, ultimately-warm neoprene.
Each Psycho RG8 full suit saves around 100 plastic bottles from potentially polluting the Oceans and decreases the bottles that will flow to the oceanic trash vortexes... which, in and of itself is pretty cool.
The largo was just what us big guys needed. Built for boot sizes 10-14 this thing rides like a snowboard still, not a door with bindings on it like some of the other "wides" out there. It could take anything (park and pipe runs were surprisingly fun on this directional), but I would reccommend this ride for anyone who spends 60 or more percent of your time hauling carcass past skiers and carving steeps and big mountain lines. Plus how can you possibly go wrong with the hesher death-metal graphic and a FULL 3 year warranty from date of purchase. Thank you Santa Cruz!
The Muse is the perfect ride for the girl who demands more! It handles anything you can throw at it on the mountain and excels in the steep and deep, but with the comply sidewalls it can still tame the park. I really like the sidecut on the muse because it is setback just enough to feel really comfortable going fast, but still almost centered so it was easy to ride switch.
Seth's new board shape rocks. I rode the 155 last season for park and backcountry lines and was surprised just how versatile it is. I am almost 6 foot tall and weigh 170 so I was definitely impressed with its float on big landings and drops (before this board I rode a 159 directional for big mountain and a 54 in the park!) but was almost more impressed how comfy it feels on all park features too! Short and nimble enough for tight trees and spinning in and out of rails, but hauling @$* it performs like a bigger deck absorbing all the chatter and holding an edge for some serious indy grab euro-carving! The new nose shape just begs to be buttered, pressed, and nollied all day. (the 148 is a true twin with a softer flex for getting your jib on and is pretty sweet for the park and the rail garden, either shape works, get this board and you won't be disappointed!)
Holy Kooley this thing is fun! The tt sidecut on the Kooley is sooooo good for park and pipe it's not even funny! Everyone rides duck in the park these days which means that you have different toe and heelside edge pressure on your board when you ride, the Santa Cruz sidecut is the only one on the market made to compensate for this! I thought that heelside turns, jumps (esp. spins and backside walls in the pipe) and landings were much easier on this board than anything that I have ever ridden in the last 14 years. Add that to the shock-absorbing sidewalls and the golfball-like dimpled base that makes you go faster in slushy and changing snow conditions and now I don't ever want to ride anything else in the park!
The sidecut on the tt is really good. If you spend any time riding switch at all you will definitely appreciate it. True twins are the only way to go.
