Hi Kristi-

How old is your son? Will his board size be larger next year? A good snowboard bag can last for years so it may be wise to size up if there any questions. Also, It is common for snowboarders to take multiple boards on trips and the extra space can come in handy.

That said, from personal experience, I would suggest you look at the more structured bags from Burton and Dakine. The Dakine Tour bag for example is close to the same price but offers better board protection, extra storage and a firmer more structured bag is easier to manage than a soft bag while traveling.

A lot depends on your riding style of course and it's not always the length that matters; width, side cut radius and taper/shape all factor in, but at 190 pounds you're definitely maxing out this particular board.

It can be a lot of fun to throw around a shorter board at the resort. But, if your plan is to come out west and ride deep powder it will definitely be a little short. You'll find that you are submarining that board and struggling to keep the nose from diving.

Yes. Using this kit, you will be able to mount her current bindings on the new splitboard.

The bindings will mount to the Voile Slider Track with t-nuts (included in this kit) and then you just use the circular mounting plate the bindings came with, you'll adjust stance angle by moving the pucks and tighten down like a regular mount. No extra drilling is required.

To switch them back, you would just dismount them from the Voile Slider Track and remount them on her standard board.

If she really gets into splitboarding, you might want to look at some of the newer split specific binding options from Spark R&D, Voile and Karakoram that eliminate the need for the slider track altogether.
