I'll start this by saying I own the Hero 3, and have always wondered, how much better can the 3+ really be?
I got a chance to test it out this weekend up at Snowbird and it lived up to the hype. I don't know how they do it, but GoPro just keeps making these things better.

Stand out new features:

1) Super View mode: Wider view and it doesn't look boxy or distorted. You can mount it on your helmet and still see your skis without angling it down too much.
2) Low Light mode: This is awesome. Noticeably better picture in off or changing light conditions when compared to the Hero 3.
3) Battery Life: I lent my friend Ryan my Hero 3 while I used the 3+. After our shred, he had one bar of battery left and I had two. I'll chalk that up to a 25% increase like they say.

In the video:
HERO 3 --> Ryan DeVine: Red pants and Rossi skis
HERO 3+ --> Me: Black pants and Armada skis
Both in 1080p 30fps modes
You should be able to see some differences in the two cameras.

I did what Ben B. did and bought this for my Hero 3 and now it is the size of a Hero 3+
Its a little lower profile, it looks better, and the buttons are easier to push.
Also, the pictures make it look like this is the skeleton, non-waterproof housing, but it is not. It is indeed the waterproof housing and it comes with the non-waterproof back door as well for better sound when you're not worried about getting it wet.

This is not what a good snowpack looks like, but it sure makes for some fun snow studying!
I like the black crystal cards over clear ones because the snow grains are easier to see. I took these pictures with just the crystal card, a 10x magnifier loupe (like BCA2951 for example) and my Iphone. Almost too easy!

Studying is fun

The main reason I got this jacket was because of the longer fit since I'm 6'2" (went with the Large and it fits perfectly)
I'm going on my third year with it and it's been awesome. The three layer Saga-tek is quite waterproof and the outer shell is beefy enough to hold up to some abuse.
I really have no complaints. The picture is of an older model, that's why the color is different than what we have this year.

If you're going to mount to a ski, do not apply the adhesive mount in the cold. Attach it to your ski indoors when your ski is at room temp. Then let it sit for a day or so.
I did not take my own advise and the mount fell off when I landed this jump.

You can do anything with this mount
I would recommend flipping your GoPro upside down though when you use this for skiing or biking. Otherwise you can get footage that stares at the ground a little too much because when it's right side up you can tilt the GoPro up as much. And if you're using the Hero3, it has a nice feature that allows it to film correctly when its upside down so you don't even have to edit it.
Fits wonderfully over a life jacket too!
Pick one up!

Flat brim/top hats are usually the style I like, but this one just didn't have the fit I was expecting.
It has a very deep fit
The brim is very round. Kind of a big half circle which makes for a wide and awkward fit on your head. I love Patagonia, but this hat wasn't for me.
Checkout the "Backcountry.com Flat Brim Hat" instead, that one fits awesome!
