I can't really remember exactly when I got addicted to outdoor sports. I am currently working as a Forester so between work and play I spend basically all of my time outdoors. I can't imagine life any other way.
Somewhere around the end of High School and the Start of college something in me clicked. I had spent a lot of time in the outdoors in my younger years but still did not have the enthusiasm I have today. My discovery of backcountry skiing and climbing pushed me to want to be outdoors all the time. The combination of the amazing feelings and sensations that come with mountain sports with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains it what I have grown to love and live for.
As much as I like mountain biking and climbing, I live for winter. Skiing is my favorite sport. It doesn't matter if I am making jump turns down sketchy Wasatch lines, hucking cliffs in the backwoods of Vermont, reaping the presidental range corn harvest, or skiing 2" fresh on grass in October, as long as there are skis (and at least 1/2" of snow) involved I am happy.
After graduating from UVM in 2009 I am looking forward to my first winter as a full blown ski bum. I can finally focus all of my energy on the sport I love so much.
My friends and I have put together a website with which to showcase our exploits. Check it out at www.famousinternetskiers.com
I like this probe a lot even though I managed to break one (it was a ridiculous EC ice lens and I was a little over zealous). BCA was very prompt in replacing it. Other than that though its a great probe, easy to set up, good measurements, long enough so your buddies don't give you disapproving looks and its light as hell.
