I really really wanted to love this jacket. I was looking for a jacket in this style and my boyfriend bought it for me for Christmas. Upon opening, I was so excited - it was exactly what I was looking for! After trying on the medium though (I'm 5'4" athletic, small-waisted with bigger butt), it made me look super boxy. We quickly ordered a small, but the same thing happened. It was just too boxy. Tightening the strings made it look weird. Well, I guess I'm on the hunt for a new coat :/
I've wanted a splitty for so long and was super stoked to see GNU come out with the amazing B-Pro board in the split. I've been riding the B-Pro 152 for the last 3 years and the split rides just as well for the most part. I can't complain for a second about its performance in pow. It's a bit squirly on hard pack "rollecoaster" exits that come with some of our runs in the Tetons but I think that's just the nature of riding a board that's cut in half :P Can't say enough good things about this board. Woo hoo!
Got this for my GNU B-Pro and so far so good. It was difficult to get the pucks aligned perfectly so that my Spark bindings could slide easily but I'd say most of my transitions have been effortless so far, even with heavy snowfall. The plastic seems a little cheap, but I guess for the sake of weight I'm okay with it.
These skins seem great so far! Had them for about 3 weeks. Climbed 3500 ft in them the other day in the Tetons with no issues and have been using them on lots of low angle skinning as well. I'm sure as my skinning ability improves I will be able to better assess their pros and cons. Lack of tail clip doesn't seem to be an issue yet.
I got this last week and have worn it almost every day so far. I got the purple one. The design is really cute, and I really like the detail stitching on the front to make it seem more feminine. Just a correction though, this is a pullover, not a zip. It has a flattering fit and a large hood for those rainy days. Highly recommended!
Rode this board on a pow day in WA, while testing boards for a new website. It was definitely my favorite! The MTX makes it so you don't lose an edge on those icy traverses, and it floats like a champ in the pow! GNU got this one right!!
I think that the 6 cm of difference wont be that big for you, especially if you are an experienced rider. You should only be worried about the larger board if you have trouble swinging your board around as it is. See if you can borrow a friends board that is bigger and see how it feels. The only other company that i know that makes a splitboard is burton, but the smallest they run is a 162...Or you could try Prior or Venture Snowboards. They also make splits.
