This faring does help reduce some of the noise caused by after market roof racks but certainly not all of it. The biggest reason it gets 3 stars is the way it attaches to Thules Aero rack system. Over all it is a pretty poor design resulting in the inability to use the faring at the same time as a ski rack. It isnt a big deal during the summer when carting around bikes, but up here in New England it would be nice to use it for Ski season as well.
This bar package is sexy. This is easily the nicest looking aftermarket roof rack available. The only down side is that some of the Thule products require adapters or a little finagling on the consumers part to make bike racks, ski racks, etc. fit perfect on the Aero bars vs. the standard Thule bars. However, it is certainly not a reason to forgo Thules Aero system; these bars work great and look even better.
Thule makes great products you can trust and will last through many seasons of use and their customer service is great. I found these footings a little difficult to get on the car. A few of the plastic pieces had manufacturing inconsistencies in them that made it very difficult to correctly install without causing damage. I called Thule and explained the problem; they sent me replacement parts the next day. Once on the car this rack system is a dream, it works great and the aero aesthetics make it appear closer to a factory installation. It would have gotten more stars if it were easier to install, but is still a great product.
