There is nothing fancy about this helmet. The product description even says that this thing lacks bells and whistles.
It isn't heavy. It's not light, either, but I've never regretted bringing it along. It's not very comfortable, either. At least not for me. Definitely not warm. Luckily you can kill two birds with one stone by ordering the next size up and wearing a beanie underneath. There you go - comfort and warmth.
I'm in the market for a new helmet, and I considered buying Pro-Tec helmet number two. I'm looking elsewhere, but maybe I'm just getting older and wanting a fancier helmet.
This isn't a bad helmet. I'm sure it does what it's intended to do, and luckily I've never had to put that to the test. My complaint is how stinking huge this thing is. You will look and feel like a bobblehead.
On the plus side, it's highly adjustable. It's comfortable at first, but the ear covers start to hurt after a full day of skiing. Don't depend on the back adjustment to make up for an oversized helmet, though. If you're in-between sizes, I'd recommend you find another helmet.
