Anybody know how long/big the tidal range is on this watch (how long from low to high?) I'm guessing the tide dial range will have been worked out for California, where the company is based? I want to buy this watch but getting it for the tide dial might be a waste of time if the tidal range for which it is set up is completely different
I have been collecting Nixon's for years and have owned more than a dozen. I have always wanted a Player in Stainless/white. To be honest I am little underwhelmed. This model has a high polish band and is rather thin around the clasp making it feel and look a little cheap. Still looks good on the wrist though. Furthermore the 'white' is more of a brushed stainless colour rather than a pure white. For the money models like the District and the Mayor feel a lot more refined and better value for money.
I got this in gold as a wedding present from my wife (having dropped a few unsubtle hints). I wasn't disapointed. I have 11 Nixon's and this is up there with my favourites. I don't usually wear gold but the Ticket's sleek design makes it classy, rather than obnoxiously flash. The band is wide and with the link design do give a hint of bling but the slim, classy art deco style face give this watch a mixture of eye catching swag and elegance. People who like their watch faces super chunky may be disappointed, look for a 51-30 instead. I love it!
This watch is SICK! I have, or at least HAD one in stainless steel/black until my local watch repair shop put 2 huge scratches down the face whilst replacing the battery. I'm so pissed off, I can buy a new one with the compensation but I don't like the newer font as much as the old italyics so it won't be quite the same. I could cry, that's how good owning this watch is. It's solid quality and infinitely more appealing and eye catching than watches costing 10 times as much. Buy it, I got so many girls grabbing at my wrist for a closer look when wearing it. It's large enough to catch the eye but not so big it looks silly and will never look out dated
This watch is an absolute classic of the Nixon collection. This is my 7th Nixon and I love it, such a nice, solid eyecatching watch to own. I got it in black with leather strap. You could pay a little more for the metal band but I already have a banks in steel/black, plus in my opinion the leather looks better. It's not so 'bling' and in your face and I think the leather band makes the body of the watch stand out even more. If you're in any doubt as to the quality it is top notch, you'll not regret adding this to your Nixon quiver or buying as a special present for someone. Even if you wanted to buy a nice watch for someone who hasn't even heard of Nixon, this would be a fantastic buy
Bought these in Latte/Bronze and couldn't be more pleased. They are so refined and comfortable that they have the feel of sunglasses twice their price (I know this cos I'm one of those people that's always trying on expensive shades in duty-free but never buying them). Based on an aviator template they are not huge and have a fairly flat sweep which gives them a little retro charm
having already purchased the Nomadics and the Troopers, I was relieved when Nixon finally put something a bit lighter and more user friendly on the market. These sound just as good to me as the Troopers, however they are less conspicuous (but still manage to retain some of Noxn's understated, eye catching styling) and far nicer to use on an every day basis. A word of warning, the colours are bright, probably more so than some photos suggest. I have them in orange and they are quite a flourecent colour.
For their size I was pleasantly surprised. They pack a decent punch that was better than I expected, however they don't handle treble too well on my ipod when it's at it's highest volume. This is easily dealt with by urning the trble reducer EQ on. They fit very comfortably and the sound travels through my beanie without any reduction in volume. These are a great alternative to in-ear phones if you want to give your ear drums a rest. Go buy them, they are definitely worth the cash.
Love this watch. However I ordered it in white/grey. Many photos show the top half of the face to be white in this colourway, however it's definitley a light silver. The surround inside the face is closer to white, but still not a proper white. Bit gutted but it's a really cool watch all the same. I liked the look/size of the player but wasn't sure about the diamond. This is a great alternative in terms of size and style.
I've read a few reviews on these headphones, getting right into the nitty gritty about sound quality etc. To be honest some of these put me off. But get these for the right price and you won't regret it. Ok so they may leak a little sound and not match up to a pair costing £300, but let's face it these are mostly about style and on that front they win over most other headphones out there.
Sound is fine, nothing incredible. They isolate outside sound pretty well and the silicone cups are really comfortable, infinitely more so than the Nomadics. They're also lightweight, adding to the usabilitry. So if you want the best sounding headphones, go spend a lot of money. If you have a bit of spare cash or looking for a nice gift for someone with an awesome sense of style then get these.
I bought this watch in blue for £80 and I love it. My g/f initially picked it and I was unsure. As I already own a banks and a rotolog, I was after a dork, however I realised this was totally different and worth taking a punt on.
Some will say that as it's Chinese quartz, it's a bit cheap of Nixon to price it so high and to be honest I would probably not spend £100 on it. That said it's totally worth having as it makes most other watches of the same price look more boring than watching paint dry. This attracts a lot of attention and comments and it has the prescence of a Nixon which makes you feel that little bit cooler than everyone else when you have it on.
It's light, comfortable and makes me smile...go buy one!
