I've had this boot for 2 seasons now, and I use it for hiking and a bit of scrambling. I love the lightness of this boot, the snug fit, the ankle support, the rubber welt to protect from rocks, the flared heel which provides great stability going down rocks & steep trails. I love the forefoot flex which lets my foot roll normally. I definitely would buy another pair of these, but right now, mine are still in good shape.
Why is the salewa men's alp trainer $129 while women's is $198?
I would like the alp trainer women's for $129 also! Size 10 please!
Regarding the sole, is this boot flexing as you walk, or is it stiff?
And is the ankle support strong enough for good protection from lateral movement?
How flexible is the boot under forefoot during walking? I like a good flex for forward motion; and stiff from side to side.
Is the 1 lb 2 oz weight for one boot or the pair?
How effective is the goretex in this boot? And is the average customer finding it true to size?
What is the weight of these boots?
I used the Kodiak last weekend in an avalanche course, and man, did it move snow like crazy; and I loved the grip. I want one of these for sure!
