These boots run a little on the large side. This might be specific to my case. I have a pretty wide foot, usually wear an 11 in any other shoe, got these in a 10EE and they fit great right out of the box! There is definitely a bit of a break in period as I’m sure is the case with most boots but it only took two times out for me to feel like these were ready for anything. These are especially tight in the forefoot but that is how the boot stays on your foot. Should have a decent amount of slip in the heel or else you’re going to end up with a big blister back there. I find that thin ski socks are the most comfortable to wear with these and I feel like the thinner the sock the more benefit you get from the technology of the boot.

After trying on a bunch of Ariat boots, which were all great, I came to the conclusion that the Sierra is a nice middle ground as far as style goes. It’s definitely not as narrow as a typical round toe boot and not as roomy in the foot box as a square toe. I’m extremely satisfied with the fit, especially seeing as I normally have a hard time finding a shoe that fits me really well. The 10 inch height on the Sierra is just about perfect for my leg shape. The top of the shaft comes up to right below my calf making the boot comfy on the leg no matter whether you are; walking, standing, or sitting. It is wide enough to easily get your foot down it but not so wide that it is cumbersome under properly fitting pants. If you’ve got skinny jeans on you better head in a different direction.

All in all I’d say these are a one boot quiver. If you are looking for a strong, sturdy, warm, waterproof boot that is also comfortable, good looking, and classy this is what you want. Tromp around in whatever you please all day, wash em off and take your lady out on a date in the evening.
