There are thousands of bluetooth speakers on the market right now but very few of them are truly designed for outdoor enthusiasts. I'm an avid skier and biker and when I was looking for a speaker, I wanted a device that was lightweight, had some level of waterproofing protection, and preferably something with good battery life that will last all day. What sold me on this product was the built on clip and the connector covers. The product clips on like a tape measure and the clip is actually quite strong.

On my first couple uses, I had it clipped on to either my pocket or my backpack strap. It was nice for just playing my music subtly when I was biking. When I was with friends I cranked it up a little bit more at the top of the run. It had the power of a real docking system but so much smaller. Battery life is pretty good. I usually get a full day out of it. I noticed it gets significantly longer life when I put volume at 8/10 or so versus fully cranked.

Since buying this thing, I've crashed on it several times and it's held up to the test. It's been through some light water exposure and does not seem to be phased. At $60 it is actually a really good value product that comes with a well supported warranty. I'm a fan.

Now I don't recommend doing this, but here goes. Over the 4th of July weekend I was up north at my buddy's ranch. We were just doing the usual gun shooting 'n' beer drinking when I decided to shoot some pics of my Boombot REX near the creek. Boombotix has a cool game platform called Swagonomics where you can earn free gear, so I take pics on Instagram with my Boombot just about everywhere.

I caught a big surge of water and my Boombot started floating down the river. It eventually sunk about 4 feet deep. I got to it pretty quickly and thought it'd be hosed. It isn't meant for full submersion. I pulled it out of the water and it was STILL working flawlessly!

Like I said, I don't recommend this, but no doubt this guy has had a number of tumbles and survived a lot. I enjoy riding my bike and hiking with this instead of headphones. My ears often get too warm to wear anything on my head. I also use it at home for conference calls on Skype. I love this thing and you will too.

I've taken this think riding deep into the backcountry. It's survived crashes, bashes, deep snow, rain, and a fair share of partying. The style is completely unique and I love having the built in clip. They are surprisingly lightweight ( I ride with mine clipped onto my pant pocket). The audio is surprisingly full range considering the size. Runtime is incredible. Easily one of my favorite gadgets I take with me everywhere. Also really fun for riding bikes.

I used to wear headphones on the mountain but I thought it sucked not be able to hear the snow and the wind at the same time. Boombotix came out with these and we basically have crazy chairlift parties, safety meetings in the BC, and we build big booters with tunes coming right off the lip. Love my Boombot always.

Love it skiing

At $45, the Boombotix speakers are by fare the best bang for the buck product ever. The battery lasts super long even at high volumes. It has been through multiple seasons with me and it is basically my buddy on my longer hikes into the backcountry. We post this guy up on booters and have tunes in the BC all day. They have a super chill warranty policy and a cool company. I've bought them for all my friends.

Most bang for the buck ever

Boombotix (http://boombotix.com) team shreds Alpine Meadows in Tahoe, CA, taking portable speakers deeper than ever before. Nothing better than mobile audio in your ears and fluffy power in your face.

I've been riding with a Boombot all over the world over the past two seasons and this thing is ridiculously fun. It's actually loud enough to hear from the chairlift. It pretty much gets me through an entire day of riding. It has most certainly taken some pretty hard crashes and it still works like a charm. You will not be disappointed with this.
