I purchased this splitboard last year in a 152, but when I got it the waist size was not as wide as it was supposed to be. I contacted Mervin about it, but it seems this error had occurred in the manufacturing for all of the bpro splits in this size. Mervin encouraged me to get the 155 which had the correct/larger waist size, so I did. I am a huge fan of B-pro's and would never ride anything that wasnt at that level; but this splitboard was not the same..... Perhaps the board was too long for me, but I had to really work getting down the slopes, had to lean back aggressively to stay on top of the pow/ keep moving in the less steep areas. Maybe the difference is the size or not having a bunch of wax, but this board just doesnt pop up on top of the snow like my regular B-pro; the camber should be the same..... I am going to give the shorter version of this board a try and see if that makes a difference.....
These poles are great for backcounty skinnning/splitboarding. The flick locks are great, they havent slipped, jammed, or broken on me yet; much better design that some of the other trekking pole varieties that have twist tightening. These poles are also great because they reduce in two places, which makes them short enough to store inside of my backpack if I want to.
These shoes are awesome for pretty much everything. They are definitely waterproof as described, although the insides can become wet if splashed from above (say when you ride your bike through a creek). I must say on the flipside however, that although your feet likely wont become wet from outside elements, waterproof= not breathable=hot sweaty feet (if you are out getting your heart rate up). I might have to purchase a pair of the non-waterproof version of this shoe for biking and running if decent colors ever come out; but in the mean time it is not so bad.
The soles are very durable- mountian bike pedals have serious potential to shred through soles, but these shoes are built tough, the soles look almost new even after a full year of riding, not to mention wearing them as my everyday shoes as well.
Love these bindings!!!!! They make flows seem very rudimentary and awkward.... Easy releases loosen the ankle strap when you unsnap the back down-super smooth getting in and out- you don't ever have to stop or sit down! Extremely comfortable also, holds ankles& feet well without hurting or slipping! Kant adjuster easy to use on high backs. Female specific shape of high backs is surprisingly much more comfortable also. Only down side with these bindings is the strength/ rigidity of the high backs, I can feel them bending when I pull them up to help slide my foot in place... Makes me wonder when one will just snap in zero degree temps.....? Overall though, best bindings I have ever worn and very impressive engineering! Worth while investment for sure!
does the fornix come in matte black?
