The Rook was always one of my favorite boards in the Nitro line and now they have given it some upgrades and renamed it the Glory Stomper. It's twin-tip, blunted, mid wide shape is super fun to ride. From the park to the pow, the Glory Stomper slays everywhere. The flat out camber floats like a dream in powder, is super fun to press in the park, and still holds an edge when you are pointing it straight down the mountain. For having a somewhat reverse camber profile, this boards has an insane amount of pop. I love the way this board rides all over the mountain and if I had to have a quiver of 1, this would be the board.

Camber is back!

The new bad seed from Nitro is truly one of the funnest snowboards I have ridden in a long time. I love the feeling of a soft cambered board! Easy to press but responsive as hell. I love the feeling of actually being able to lock into a press and due to the lowrider camber, you can actually do that! You can pop a real ollie on this bad boy and damn does it feel good. The railkiller edges with the addition of power pods mean you can turn on a dime (even on ice) and bash onto rails without fear of a broken edge. This board rips in all terrains but its home is in the park. I love the true twin mid wide shape. I can't imagine riding anything other than the Bad Seed in the park this season. Truly the best park board.

My Favorite Powder Board Ever.
5 5

Living in the Wasatch, I am blessed with a bevy of powder days every season. There is nothing worse than having the wrong board on a knee to waste deep day. Each and every year I pick up the Nitro Slash and each and every year it gets better and better. The 2015 feels slightly stiffer than the 2014 which in my mind is a good thing. The gullwing camber and pow specific shape keep you floating on top of the white wave, but the board is still stable enough to plow through the chunder. Sending it off cliffs and landing is almost cheating with this board under your feet. It is so easy! There is no board I would rather ride on a powder day.

If you want a board that excels in the park but rips all over the mountain too, check out the Nitro T1. It's true twin shape, rail killer edges, and whiplash core profile make it ideal for destroying anything and everything in the park. I have noticed that most of the guys on Nitro's pro team are usually riding this board in their video parts. I love how easy it is to do a nose press or a 5-0 but still feel safe while hitting a big jump. I found that I can point this board straight down the mountain with minimal chatter. It truly i s a solid ride.

The Hotwing camber on the past few Subzeros could be really "loose" feeling which some people like. However, the new 2015 Subzero has taken that loose feeling and made it a little more stable while remaining playful. This is mostly in part to the Flat Out Rocker camber. Flat between the feet and rockered towards the tip and tail, the Flat Out Camber allows you to press your board sky high, while giving you the stability to hit bigger jumps and rip at higher speeds. Couple that with the rail killer edges, which are twice as thick and twice as strong as a standard edge, and you have the perfect storm of a park board under your feet. I recommend this board for anyone that loves riding park and handrails.

There is nothing more important to your snowboard setup than your boots. Comfortable and warm feet allow you to ride longer and harder. The Nike Kaiju is one the most comfortable boots out there. Its super lightweight and looks good. These run a little on the softer side and thus are the park riders favorite in the Nike line. The internal lacing keeps your foot snugly into the heel. The liner is heat-moldable and super cush. The outsole provides plenty of traction on slippery surfaces. I'd recommend these boots to anyone looking for a medium/soft boot that really excels in the park (thanks to flex and cushioning) but will still perform great all over the mountain.

If you love a medium flexing boot, a little on the softer side, check out the Nike DKs. The Kaijus feel a little softer and the Zoom Forces feel a little stiffer. They feature plenty of cushioning that allow you to ride all day in any terrain. My feet have never been more comfortable. I heat molded them and never experienced any discomfort. They are lightweight and they look really good. I love traditional laces and these boots are easy on/easy off with no gadgets to deal with. Nike makes a quality product and stands behind it featuring wonderful customer service. I've been wearing the DKs and the Kaijus every year since they have come out and can't imagine ever wanting to try anything else. Comfortable feet are the most important part of your setup.

True twin all mountain performance in a premium package. That is exactly what you will get with the Blacklight from Nitro Snowboards. Featuring a high end Sintered Speed Formula II Base, the Blacklight charges the entire mountain. The Powerlight core keeps things light as a feather under your feet while the Diamond laminates ensure a snappy and responsive flex. The Blacklight comes in both standard and Gullwing camber allowing you to choose between lightening fast response or a slighlty looser ride. I recommend this board to anyone looking for a high end, true twin, all mountain freestyle machine. The Gullwing version is a lot of fun on pow days and the standard camber is perfect for lapping the mountain with your friends.

The best pow board. Period.

If you love to ride powder as much as I do, you know how much the right board can change your experience from a good one to a great one. Float, response, and playfulness all play a huge role in the design of the perfect pow quiver board. The Nitro Slash is everything you could want for those days when you escape into the deep stuff. The Gullwing camber coupled with the tapered shape and set back stance will keep you floating on the deepest days. The graphics are amazing and will make sure everyone is jealous as you are slashing passed them. The Slash is both playful and responsive when you need it to be. Even when you are on the groomers the Slash is fun to turn, however it really excels in the trees and chutes. I would recommend this board to anyone looking for a pow specific quiver board that is as fun to ride as it is functional.

Take it anywhere

Finding the right park board can be a daunting task. Choosing a board that is easy to press but still stable enough to jump on can be difficult. Thankfully, Nitro has made your decision easy with the T1. This zero camber board can do it all and do it all well. Railkiller edges are twice as thick and twice as strong as a standard edge and can take any abuse you throw at them. The Whiplash core profile is milled out between your feet and thicker underfoot allowing you to get a smooth flex without sacrificing ollie power. The Powercore II and a sintered base give you the pop and speed you need to clear the big jumps. A team favorite for Nitro riders, this board seriously does it all and allows you to focus on having fun. I would recommend this board to anyone that wants a fun and playful board that you can ride all over the mountain. Jon Kooley's pro one off features nuns with guns. What's not to like?

If you are looking for the board that can do it all from the park to the pipe to the pow, look no further. The Team Gullwing by Nitro is the board you have been looking for. The Team Gullwing offers plenty of snap thanks to the Reflex core profile but is still flexible enough to lock in that nose press. The Gullwing camber profile allows you to keep your nose up in the deep stuff with little to no effort at all. A sintered base ensures you are clearing all the knuckles and keeping ahead of the pack in that waist deep pow. The graphics from renowned LA street photographer Estevan Oriol will make sure you are standing out in the lift line. I would recommend this board for anyone that wants a quiver of one. One board to rule them all.

If you like your board to ride loose and playful, it doesn't get much better than the Subzero. The Hotwing camber profile is ridiculously snappy while still being super easy to press. Hotwing is reverse camber between the feet and flat towards the tip and tail. The rail killer edges are twice as strong as a standard edge and allow you to bash into all the metal you want. The extruded base is super easy to repair making this an ideal choice for you rippers that want to take your skills to the streets. I would recommend this board for any one that likes a loose ?skatey? ride but still wants some pop.

One of the best freestyle bindings!
5 5

If you like your bindings with a medium stiffness that is slightly on the softer side, I'd recommend the Nitro Zeros. The two piece base tray allows for some flexibility while the highback is responsive and lightweight. The buckles release smoother than butter and the airbag under your heel provides supreme cushioning. The Zero is perfect for the rider that loves to ride the park but isn't afraid to venture into the trees.

If I had to choose one word to describe the Nitro Phantom binding, it would simply be ?amazing.? The Phantoms are the perfect medium stiffness binding. Featuring canted foot beds that take pressure off of your knees and airbags that offer supreme cushioning, the Phantoms are Cadillacs for your feet. The taller highback offers unbeatable response and the buckles release smoother than butter. I would recommend this to everyone from the seasoned park ripper to the all mountain destroyer. The Phantom does it all, and does it all in comfort.

A blast from the past! Nitro was the first company to introduce an asymmetrical edge on a snowboard in the early 90's and for 2013 they are bringing it back complete with throwback graphics and they even kept the name. The Pyro is the quiver of one you have been looking for. Featuring zero camber, the Pyro is easy to press but also is more responsive than the typical reverse camber board. The asym edge coupled with Power Pods allow this board to turn on a dime. The retro shape and graphic is sure to catch the attention of everyone in the lift line. Rail Killer Edges allow you to jib anything and everything in your way without fear of cracking an edge. The sintered base rounds out this amazing shred stick, ensuring you will always have enough speed to stay ahead of the pack. If you are looking for a playful yet responsive board to do it all, look no further. The Pyro is what dreams are made of.
