Burton continues to up the ante in the binding department year after year, unlike their boards which have become heavier, stiffer and have less feel over recent years. I have yet to get off the lift and get these tight enough without having to stop after 2 turns to tighten them down again. Could be a boot issue, but I think the new ratchets might be the culprit. That process of tightening after two turns might not be possible in the backcountry where you can't or don't want to stop after your first couple of turns. Until the rachet design becomes a standard, I'd hesitate bringing these bindings over seas or remote locations without bringing backup ratchets with me.

In my opinion this is the perfect sized travel bag, any bigger and I might be tempted to load it with so much stuff I'd get charged through the roof in fees. The different compartments are great because you can separate dirty laundry and you can see through the panels so packing and unpacking doesn't become a game of Memory. I got the highly visible Higgins color, easy to pick out quickly on the baggage carosel.

I was a little worried when I first put them on the soles were making a pretty loud squeaking noise whenever I walked on a wood floor, after about a day the squeak wore off and they were fine. I'm a size 11 and they are true to their size with some extra room in the toe which I like. I got the brown velvet which look lighter in person than the photo depicts. I agree they do look a little clowney and I've dubbed them my Ronald McDonalds.
