When I first started running 5 years ago, the first shoe that fit perfectly was the wave rider. Since then I have owned multiple versions. Then I stopped running for a time. Since I am training for a new race I decided to get the latest version of these.

Fit is true to size. I have always worn a 12 in wave riders and these are no different.

I like the way these feel. Although it seems quite a bit different of a shoe than it used to be, I still like it. Toe box feels slightly more narrow. As with old Wave Riders, I hate how rocks tend to get stuck in the sole sometimes because of its design. These are no different.

Overall, I am happy with them, but I will probably try something new next time.

I have never run in HOKA's before but am training for a 50m mountain race. Friends recommended the HOKA brand.

I wear a 12 usually in running shoes and bought the HOKA stinson trail shoe. I have wide feet and this was way too tight in the toe box (length was good, but not width). i sent those back.

I then ordered the Mafate trail shoe in a size 12 after hearing it was the widest in the HOKA lineup.

The Mafate fit my foot much better. The day after got them, I ran 20mi in them. Without breaking them in whatsoever, they preformed incredibly. I could not be happier.

As to their quality over time, only time and miles will tell. I will update this review after my race.

These things are awesome for a number of reasons.
1. My 4 year old loves spending hours playing in the snow 'testing' her gear. No snow has ever gotten into these things with the drawstring style cincher on top and the ankle strap.
2. Some kids snow boots fall off way to easily... talk about the perfect way to ruin an afternoon in the snow for a kid. These boots have never fallen off or gotten close to it.
3. My daughter has sensitive feet and gets blisters often from new shoes. None to report after spending hours in them for their first use or any subsequent uses.
4. They have a removable liner to help with drying them out, even though they have never been 'wet' inside. A nice feature.
5. My daughter is excitable and accident prone on ice, they have awesome tread and she hasn't had any spills in these things.
6. Fit is true to size.
7. These things are warm! We have been out playing in zero degrees F and there was no complaining from her... I was a different story.
Overall, I couldn't recommend a better boot for kids. I am a new fan of Sorels. I have never had a pair but am looking at some now.

I bought this for my wife and she has really liked it. It is very durable and has held up well to much use and many washings. She usually likes her sweaters/hoddies a little loose so I usually order her a M. It turned out to be a great size that fit her just the way she likes.
