An essential tool
5 5

This saw is a crucial piece of equipment when digging pits to evaluate snow stability. It allows you to smooth the walls of a pit so fine that every snow layer will be easily identified by a quick glance. You can isolate columns for a Compression test incredibly quick, and chopping out a section of your pit for an ECT is too simple not to do. The Flick-Lock is great for attaching it to BD poles, and with two sizes on the lock it can fit a variety of other poles. This just made all of my pits exponentially prettier, and is an essential tool for responsible decision making in the backcountry.

Purchased a pair of these as a Christmas gift for my Mom and have some feedback to share; I got her the Red Sensor Lens for use in flat light in the Colorado mountains above Treeline, she said they were great and allowed her to make out the Terrain much better than usual. She also said they fit her face perfectly and are very comfortable (she has a smaller/medium face). She loved the colors of the Violet Ombre as well. Figured I'd share what I can, sorry it is not too personal. I will try to add more when I cross her path again.

I have used this helmet for about 4 seasons now, and finally had to purchase a new one. Besides a few whacks which could have compromised the padding, the outer shell separated from the layer underneath it (all of the padding). It still works, but I had a Traumatic Brain Injury last September do not have any leeway with hitting my head again. This helmet is approved by both the EU standard and the ASTM standard for impacts, which is nice to know. I wear it with a beanie underneath and no earflaps and it fits perfectly. I removed some of the velcro padding they include, but that is all. Overall it is quite bomber, and is one of the few helmets I feel very safe in.

These racks are incredibly easy to use. They install easily to the Thule Loadbar and operate nicely in about any condition. They have big buttons to release that can be easily depressed even if caked in snow and a bit of ice. They also close incredibly easy in the same conditions. I have had the 6 pair and the 4 pair, the 6's are super nice if you are going to be skiing with groups of friends or family, especially if some of them snowboard. The 6 pair fits about 5 pairs of pow skis, 6 pairs of park skis, or two snowboards (stacked on top of each other) and 3 pairs of park skis.

I have only used them a few times, and have not used them in really intense conditions as of now (just a fairly mild Utah storm) but they are incredibly nice and I know they are going to be more than capable. Initially I purchased the Large but I felt as though they were a bit snug (I prefer a baggy fit) and exchanged them for an XL which fit perfectly. I am 6 foot 175 lbs for reference. The beacon pocket is a nice addition as well, my last pair of bibs did not have a dedicated pocket for one. I use a BCA Tracker and it fits fine. I am stoked to get them out and really put them to good use, I can tell I am going to love them.

I had been using the Pink Iridium variant for a long time with pleasant results in a wide range of conditions, but I decided I could do better in flat light and purchased the H.I. Yellow. These things truly are 'High Intensity' in their amplification of light. They work incredibly well. I did not realize the faults of the Pink Iridium in the lowest of lights until I used these. It is great to have a wide range of lights covered now and would highly recommend these to anyone who is searching for a good low-light lens. Especially for skiing anywhere above tree-line (Colorado comes to mind) these make negotiating low light much more pleasant.

These goggles rock, I am not sure why it took me so long to get a pair instead of carrying around 2 different pairs of gogs in my pack when skiing in the backcountry. Both lenses that are provided are great; the Green Sol is great for the sunny days, and the Red Sensor mirror is one of the best flat-light lenses I have used. I have used these about 10 times so far and the only issues I have had were a result of my own errors. I did not properly attach a lens once and got some fog and internal ice on the lens. I will not make that mistake again though, it was just caused by careless installation of the lens. Overall these are some of my favorite goggles I have used, and I love the versatility they offer. They are the perfect size for my face. Couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.
