Have been riding a pair of ThirtyTwo focus BOA's for 2 seasons now. I was skeptical of the BOA system, but have had no issues (30-40 days a season). Besides the folks at BOA are super helpful and I was able to get a boot lacing schematic and buy extra reels and wires from them (ThirtyTwo folks couldn't help me with that). You can really tweek these boots to any stiffness you want. I'm a hardbooter convert, and I can get just as tight a fit with the Focus as hard boots, but with ease walking to that hidden pow stash. If you want to freecarve the groomers you can really lean on these and they will respond! The soft liner boot really helps on bump runs, in pow or in trees. The liner has its own lacing tightening system. Pretty cool. The weird "grill" looking pattern on the outside of the boot at the heel is coming frayed (from being in the heelcup of the binding), but it does not affect the performance of the boot at all. After 2 seasons these boots still rock.
They are more pricey, although I got my hands on a pair for under $140, but well worth the $$$.
