This boot, without question, is the best boot I have ever owned. Extremely light weight due to the fusion technology (combining outer and insole in one), this boot also leaves a foot print that is nearly a full size smaller in length and width (great for hiking and for big foots out there)
The fusion also makes for better boot to board feel with less materials between you and your board, the responsiveness is quite noticable.
I was skeptical of the new lace tightening system that Salomon has introduced. And though the boots do tend to loosen a bit over a day of hard riding, the simplicity of tightenting and locking will have you locked back in seconds.
The best part about this boot for me so far? Zero break in time...I mean none. No bruising, crushed toes, swollen feet, nothing.
To be quite clear, this is not a freestyle boot. If your looking for forgiveness on your squirrelly landing, this is not a boot for you. I still huck in these, but you best have your landing straight.
This boot is about a 7 in stiffness. Meaning it will keep you upright in the steep and deep, and respond with the quickness you need in the chatter, with minimal effort.
All in all I have yet to find a flaw other than they are not super cushy in the foot pad (the supplied insole is pretty good. A pair of Super Feet is even better) and they are not the warmest boots out there, but this is not my issue as my feet are always extremely warm.
This is my 2nd pair of Salomons (my last pair ran for 5 seasons with almost no wear on the outer shell). I won't ever ride anything else.
