I picked up the 159 wide about a month ago and absolutely love it. I am 5'11", 210 Lbs, with 10.5 boots. EXCELLENT board for progressing at presses and butters, rips up the park, and the Magne-traction lets you cruise the groomers with ease. you keep it on an edge and even when the mountain's iced over you'll be able to ride. I went with the wide so I wouldn't have to worry about toe drag, but you could go with the normal width with your feet ducked out a little and you should be fine. the 10.5 is right on the edge where you could go ether way, so it's more of a personal preference.

the Tech Specs say these will protect your shins as well as knees, is that right?
it says it comes factory detuned, how much of the edge is detuned? how well does it do outside the park, on groomed runs or ice?
I am trying to decide if I should get the MTX or spend a bit more for the BTX version. I am fairly new so I spend most of my time on the groomed runs, but I like to hit little kickers and the occasional rail too. So I am wondering if I would feel a difference, and if it is worth it.
