Solid construction

Did I mention FIRM?

These are all great features of the Driver. The only downside is the price. If you told me 5 years ago that I would drop that on a boot, I would have died. Get them if you ride a lot and ride fast. Don’t bother if you are solely into freestyle. I ride backcountry 90% of the time and need a solid firm boot. Rock them if you can.

This is the best that you can get right now. They get the job done and don’t have extra "jewlery" to bog them down. In the past they were better. Real leather would be nice on the straps. A real carbon fiber base would be wonderful like in the past. Actually, they don’t feel light.

There is a lot of crap out there. I would stick with these if you want the best that is out right now. The ratchets work well and disengage quickly. Oh, and if style is your deal, they look "hot" as Paris Hilton would say.

Rock them if you hike backcountry with the board on your back or are splitting. They are firm and built for speed and pair up well with the Driver boot. Go with the Driver and not the SL-8 for backcountry. The SL-8 is great and has some "give" with the articulating cuff for more of a freestyle feel.
