Lets be serious, Gore-Tex is great stuff! And the Volcom V-Bird Gore-Tex Pant is no different. They mix the Volcom quality with bombproof Gore-Tex 2 layer fabric and a great slim cut for a perfect pant.
First Impressions: The pants look and feel bombproof! The Gore-Tex 2 layer fabric looks like it will survive the abuse and moisture of the Pacific Northwest with no problems. The number and location of the pockets seem fairly standard. The Volcom Zip Tech is a great "techie" feature of the pant that allows you to seamlessly connect your Volcom jacket and pants for a weather proof seal when the conditions require (i.e. POW!). As far as the sizing is concerned, I am 5'7" and weigh roughly 160lbs. The medium is a perfect fit, enough room to move, but still a slimmer cut.

Overall, I am rating at five stars on initial impressions.

I will be sure to give a update once I have been able to use in variable conditions.

I just received the 2012/2013 Volcom Landvik T.D.S Gore-Tex jacket and I am stoked! Upon recently relocating to the Pacific Northwest, I decided that it was time to up my outerwear game. I have (and always will) stand behind Volcom products 100%. And, based on my first impressions, this jacket is no different.
First Impressions: The jacket looks and feels bombproof! The Gore-Tex 3 layer fabric looks like it will survive the abuse and moisture of the PNW with no problems. The YKK WaterGuard waterproof zippers will help to keep the weather out and the warmth in. Volcoms T.D.S. looks to be able to insulate in the right areas and allow you to dump excess heat when needed. The number and location of the pockets seem fairly standard. The Volcom Face Tech and Zip Tech are great "techie" features of the jacket which are also super beneficial when the conditions require them (i.e. I am hoping for deep, deep pow!). And, of course, the RECCO reflector is always a nice to have. As far as the sizing is concerned, I am 5'7" and weigh roughly 160lbs. The medium is a generous fit. The body has more than enough room to layer and add insulation when needed. The arms are a bit on the longer side, but once wearing gloves/mittens, I feel that everything should line up perfectly.

Overall, I am rating at five stars on initial impressions. If you can get over the price the jacket, it looks to be able to protect and last.

I will be sure to give a update once I have been able to use in variable conditions.

The 2012/2013 SLASH ATV HUB 156 is a super fun board! After riding rocker and rocker combo boards for the past few seasons, it is so nice to ride a traditional camber profile board. The ATV HUB 156 is a solid board, not too heavy and not too light. The flex, stability, and direction twin shape are perfect for this all mountain destroyer. The edge hold with the ultimate traction bumps is key in hard pack and icy conditions. The sintered base is fast and durable. Aesthetics wise, The SLASH identity shape and graphics make it a beautiful board to look at. Gigi puts his name behind this board and his SLASH brand, and believe me, it rips!
