I picked this up late in the season last year. So far it is a generally good board, but it should be noted that it does not hold at all on ice. Thus, I would not consider it for the east coast. It was tough here in Colorado's late season.
After a few more months on this thing, I will revisit the review.
My 9 year old son likes these well enough. They are a bit firmer so that the lens does not readily pop out as occurred with another pair I had purchased previously.
What is the half-zipper for along the top of the waistline?
I have not had any other helmet with which to compare, but this thing is really comfortable. I forget that I am wearing it. This past weekend it was freaking cold at Breckenridge, and it kept my head and ears nice and toasty. Get Smith goggles as well for the perfect mating.
Nothing is said about whether these goggles protect against UVA & UVB. That would seem to be a good thing to do for little kids sensitive eyes. Maybe it is standard?
I have worn them a few times now and they not only look good (orange), but keep me dry. They also seem to keep me from getting too warm, though I have not been out on any really toasty days yet.
You will enjoy them.
