Strap into this helmet with gold-medal-worthy confidence.
Get the same shred-head protection the entire RED Team does when you put on the lightweight and adjustable Hi-Fi Helmet. The Hi-Fi’s in-molded polycarbonate shell is tough enough to give Shaun White the balls to throw his double-corks over a rock-hard halfpipe, while the helmet’s adjustability and removable ear pads let you ride with or without a beanie.
- Air Band 180 Fit System pumps up to fit your weirdly shaped head
- Five top vents lined with mesh draw in fresh air and keep out snow and ice
- Removable Quick Clip II Ear Pads keep your lobes toasty despite the army of snow guns pointed onto the hill
- GlovesOn Buckle allows adjustment and helmet removal without taking off your gloves so you don’t lose them on the lift
- Goggle gasket and removable goggle clip secure your eyewear while you ragdoll down the landing
- Co-developed with Anon, thus eliminating the possibility of a gaper gap when you put on your Anon goggles
- REDphones-audio-accessory-compatible so you can blast your obscenely dope tunes into your skull all day long

my electric blue RED hi-fi II helmet
have worn this helmet to my first couple snowboarding lessons... works great & fits great (i ordered an XXL.. due to my braids i need a bigger fit). & you know i was fallin a lot, since i'm a beginner taking lessons. definitely happy to have this on my head! my Electric Visual EG.5 Snow Goggles fit around it surprisingly well too.
Helmet fit still rocks
I had an earlier version of this helmet before, so other than the edition of the 180 air fit, I didn't expect any major difference. It fit as expected, maybe the interior padding is a little plusher, but not by much. The reason it didn't recieve 5 stars is because only time well tell if it survives well. My 1st helmet seemed to start separating. Bubbles formed in what appeared to be the final coating and the main body of the helmet. I figured that meant the integrity was compromised and took it back to where I purchased it (REI). The other big fault on my previous version was that it dented and scratched very easily. It developed a flat spot on the top from where I would put my helmet on the ground.
This helmet is awesome. I've been riding for 13 years without one. Didn't find it "cool". But this helmet looks good, feels good, and is nice and warm too. Totally worth it. Def gonna upgrade to the add-on speakers. Nice features throughout. No regrets...and safe too.
does this model come with audio?
does this model come with audio?
It does not come with any audio gear.
It does not but, but you can buy the audio separate; http://www.backcountry.com/red-redphones-premium-dj-headset it is a great option. You can wear these as headphones to the mountain then switch out the driver into the earphones.
its nice but not much padding inside.
This helmet is just what i was looking for right out of the box. It is true to the description and sizing chart and is exactly what i expected. The ear pads and inner padding are very easily removable so that i can wear a beanie under the helmet if i want to. I would recommend this to anyone else like me with a big head looking for a perfect fitting helmet. The airband fit system works great to get that custom fit. I can't wait to hit up Snowbird in this styling and comfortbale helmet.
I switch between this and the RED Mutiny, but love them both!
Drop in, protect your head, and look good doing it! If you gotta rock a helmet you better make it as low-profile as possible. this and the mutiny do the trick!
Good helmet, bad audio
Review of the 07 Shaun White branded version of this helmet.
Solid helmet, horrible audio components. I started with the Red Shaun White and added the audio kit. Lasted about a day before the connection started flaking out. Audio pads were also very hard on the ears - minimal padding. When the audio worked, it was comparable to $15 headphones - not bad, not great.
Fit was very good on my head - was the only comfy XL I could find.
This helmet saved my life!!! I was carving up some figure 8's with a buddy in some heavenly POW, serious cloud surfing! we were hauling ass down this mountain when I let my nose get to low, it sent me on a flying front flip into nice soft powder. I kicked up so much snow that my buddy couldn't see where I was. He came flying by and the front of his board connected with the back of my noggin, without the helmet I would of had a board inbedded in my brain. It knocked me stupid for a few minuets but after about 10min it was of to crush the rest of the mountain!!! Needless to say the helmet was destroyed, picked up a new one the next day and will never ride without one again!!!!
I can say this helmet saved my life. I was riding at PCMR, I was lining up to slide one of the boxes on Kings and next thing I know I woke up to Ski Patrol using one of those ammonia things to wake me up. Apparently I caught an edge and went down and knocked myself out cold. Fortunately I was ok, no internal damage just a concussion. The ski patrol and docs in the ER were amazed and said that if I hadn't been wearing it that if it hadn't killed me I would have probably been a vegetable the rest of my life.
Aside from being a lifesaver, the helmet has a great fit. I think I have a pretty normal shape to my head, it's a bit more of a round shape overall. I wear a 7 1/2 New Era most of the time and I measure out to 59.5 cm. The medium is a solid fit for me as it is snug, but leaves just a little bit of room. The ventilation is great, I've never really felt over heated, even on those quick side country hikes.
Bottom Line: $99.95 is cheaper then your Insurance Co-Pay to the ER.

Is this helm compatible with 2009 RED Audex Sub Earpads
Yes they are, as long as you have the Hi-Fi earpads system.
